2019-04-12:
Fri:
Not much to say about work. I did what I could.
Then I left.
Dropped my stuff off, looked for Gabe, no Gabe, it was raining though. Got gas, why does my gauge say I could still take a gallon but the pump shuts off? Weird. Why does the receipt say I'm saving .03 but the pump price had me saving .06? Went to the bank, finally, then got groceries.
Had just enough time back here to put stuff away, check my sites to put my time in, and left for the restaurant. Very good as usual, then was second loser in Red Dragon Inn. Mizzy won, so she can't say she never wins anything. Then watched the My Hero Academia movie.
Sat:
Got up fairly late, started working on the laptop I got in yesterday. Got it loaded with the SSD and realized the trackpad buttons don't work. Yay.
Checked my sites, then got the rest of the christmas lights down. Many do not work, but that's a problem for future Robert.
As it was so nice and sunny I went ahead and cleaned out the breezeway as well. My vacuum wasn't working all that great so I thought it was plugged. It was, but then clearing it revealed the second issue. The hose is just disintegrating. $30 for a new one.
What is with this leaf? Look at it. It has holes, but they are so regular. Did a bug do this? A bird? Why? How was this done and why?

Did more reading of the WoT world book.
Watched Dragonslayer. Maybe combined that with the last unicorn?
Sun:
Got up and checked my sites, then went over what I had written in book 7 to get some of the names and such down.
Made changes, looked things up, got less far than I thought I would. But I did finish all eight chapters.
The guy said he didn't mind the trackpad buttons, as he uses a mouse. When I pulled the other drive back it, windows started complaining about activation. Oh MS, I love you so much. So I tried just reloading it.
Made my other calls, didn't reach one person, but there's a guy with a stuck machine supposedly after an upgrade that took some time. We'll see about him tomorrow.
Did the usual Sunday stuff, hardly worth mentioning here. It was fairly warm and sunny, tomorrow should be as warm and rainy.
Put the old drive back in, it was actually windows 10 pro. Huh. So I cloned the drive, just in case. Stupid activation. Stupid MS. Why? Why???????
At least that worked, it's "activated" now. All hail my MS overlords! Took about an hour, my goodness spinning rust drives are terrible.
Mon:
Let's get one thing clear, I certainly didn't write the next chapter.
But what did I do? Well, there was a meeting, very productive. There was letting Chris into the building, because he forgot his badge. Silly Chris. There was writing one bug, how the screen sometimes goes to a different screen without even touching the tablet. Very odd.
And nothing else.
Realized I didn't need to go to lowes to see if they had little seed cups, I had something that would stand in perfectly already. Can you guess what it was? Answer at the end!
Came back home because my appointment was at 5:30, so I checked my sites and ate dinner. Went out to see about the hung system, and yes, it was hung up all right. Explorer seemed to be hung, and not even starting in safe mode would help. I copied his stuff to the second drive he had in there, and wiped the freaking thing out. The reload doesn't take too long (though far longer than with an SSD, sigh) and I was home by, ugh, 8:00.
Finished up checking my sites, got ready for tomorrow.
It's egg cartons! Yup, that should be perfect to start my little milkweed seeds.
Wrote a little of chapter 10.
Tues:
Let's get it out of the way. Did not finish chapter 10. Nope. Work work work, that's all I did.
Did write one bug, when you send a message to the print email service without a message body the ability to print the nonexistent message body should be disabled. It is not. Minor stuff, but what's left at this point? We've done a full test.
At least I have ~24 bugs to verify tomorrow, so that's something. Demo too.
I wrote demon too by accident. Ha!
Dropped off the laptop, spent an hour moving his stuff over. Maybe wireless would have been better? The copy speed of windows is just pathetic. I mean it's a USB 3 drive over a USB 3 port. You would think it would copy more than 100kb a second sustained. You'd be wrong.
Anyway, came back here, checked vids, sites, proofread chapter 10.
No calls, got ready for tomorrow.
Played some Chrono Cross, and went to bed.
Wed:
Welcome to day 100.
Yes, 4/10, only ten days from 4/20, and the one hundredth day of the year. Neat.
Here's a thing I for sure did today. Look into nearly 25 bugs. Yes, nearly. One is a long term thing, the logs going and going until they are hundreds of megs large, (and meg isn't that large a girl *rimshot*)
Meanwhile I was assigned Adnan's work that he was just "too busy" to do with the reliability test he's now (supposedly) doing. When not walking around getting ice water that is. Not to worry friend, I had already done 1/2 the work you were assigned to do, so I only had to do one spec - test case update and not two. Well, I had to do two, I just did one earlier.
Then I got assigned to John to do his work of tablet stuff, that starts tomorrow. So I stayed late to finish Adnan's work so I could do John's work tomorrow. Hey, I'll leave early Friday so it's fine.
What else did I do today? Go to the demo? Check.
Eat cookies stuffed with tasty cream filling at the demo? Check.
Writing? Of course not, I was working all day you sillies.
Anyway, most bugs were fixed but some had to be reopened. When will they ever learn?
Came back here, had dinner while checking sites. Two calls, joy and laugher.
Got a third between one and two. So I booked Saturday rather than tomorrow, fine, and answered some questions. Also fine. Didn't take too long.
Figured out Kid's equipment. She might need it soon.
Got my hose, suction has once again been gained.
Improved a song I downloaded yesterday. She basically sang a "duet" with an older recording she had made. But she talked over the beginning and cleared her throat after the first bit. I found another recording of it by that same artist, synced them up, stripped out the first one where the talking was, duplicated the second track so it was still a "duet" and left the rest alone. Success!
Played more Chrono Cross.
Thurs:
Day went quite quickly, happens when you have an actual job to do and not just "yeah find some bugs or whatever."
Reported to John to begin tablet work, and figured out something to make his life easier. We use a "batch" tool that has eight "slots" meaning in theory it should support eight tablets connected to a machine. John could not get this to work, and in the beginning I couldn't either. But I realized that perhaps we were going about it the wrong way. Starting one, then trying to start another. No no. We have to plug them all in, and they all happen simultaneously. I have thee ports on my laptop so *boom* it loaded three at a time not one, meaning it took 1/3 of the time. Nice.
He's going to resurrect the desktop with 10 ports he pulled from the garbage for this exact purpose. In any case, with that and generally helping we got a lot of tablets tested and reloaded. Stayed another half hour late so I can leave an hour early tomorrow. Sweet. Of course, Jon is now working until six, so we're not starting at 6:00 like he said.
Anyway, that took all day!
Got back here, did the usual stuff of sites, eating, and petting a kitty.
No calls, but I did get 4 hang up calls.
Changed Kid's description in chapter 4 when she takes her armor off, based on what would be the equipment she took out of her world. Tried to recall what revelation Lysanias was supposed to make later in the book, but I've forgotten it now. Super.
Otherwise got ready for bed, and I'll probably play some Chrono at this point.
Looking to the future I have no idea what I'll do at work tomorrow, catch up on email certainly. Leave an hour early? Definitely.
Not sure if Sean's will even factor into it, but no parents, so I'll drop stuff off there and get gas and food as usual.
Saturday I have one job hopefully a quick one and I hope to have my parents over this week for movie night so I'll do the cleaning as such as always.
Sunday? Writing? Gaming? Who can say. Putting seeds in dirt? Most possibly.
So that's second week of April. Easter is in two weeks, just so you know. Hope it's nice and sunny where you are, it's not here!
See you next week.
