2019-03-08:
Fri:
Finished two services, scan to one drive and dropbox. Wrote I think it was 4 bugs, sounds about right. Nothing much exciting going on, just another Friday.
Worked a little on some notes for the wheel of time game as well. Added stuff like just how addictive the One Power is, various substances like Forkroot tea, and clarified several things. Also put in another skill.
Went shopping, still no kleenex, why is that?
Then saw my parents, had dinner with them and even saw three deer.
Came home, dropped the stuff off, no calls, so I went out to Sean's. Stayed on track fairly well, found the guy we need to kill, came up with the plan. It’s still bizarre not to call law enforcement with the tip that the guy that ordered the guy to kill the other guy is at house X and let them take it from there. I mean they are vampires, so it would have to be Monster Cops™ but still. We’re just planning the casual murder of a bunch of vampires. But they’re just undead monsters, right?
Came back right after, Mizzy isn't feeling well. Poor Mizzy, feel better!
Sat:
Cleaned up around here, as my parents are coming over. Not that I wouldn’t have, of course, it does need it from time to time. Speaking of time I still had extra before I had to leave for my 10:00 so I did paperwork. 6 and 8 jobs in the last two months. Woohoo! Let’s keep that up. Figured the taxes I had collected and filled in the little online form so they could take it. Less than $900, was it worth it?
Went out to the job, he just had one of those scam popups on his screen. That’s all. Took two seconds to kill the tab, but I checked the machine out anyway. It was fine.
Back here played some chrono, just poking around talking to people, trying to figure out my next move.
Ate lunch and watched episode 5 of supernatural.
Finished the next book, only 3 more to go! We’re into Sanderson territory now.
Snowing fairly steadily, but it’s not really sticking yet. The driveway is fairly wet, I dread (the winter) freezing it, as each little snowflake makes it colder and closer to freezing.
Watched another episode and did more reading of the next book.
Then my parents came, yay! As a note, you guys all know the difference between my sarcastic yays and my un-sarcastic yays, right? Maybe I should use an emoji of some kind? Because believe me, there is a difference.
Sun:
Checked the sites, watched the videos. Snow hadn't accumulated too much.
The last boss I fought in Chrono wiped me out with a single spell, so I went looking to see what I could do about that.
Recruited some other characters, wiped it out pretty easily. Huh. Then the same with the next boss. And then I came to the next boss. (Yes, the game is hurling bosses at me at the moment) I got stopped again. There's six dwarves and they can use an attack that hits all of us at once. I couldn't kill them fast enough and I only have 1 revive. It’s on the character that lasted the longest, but still there’s only the one. I don’t recall the game being that tough when I played it before. The thing that really busts my chops is, I’m not getting any HP anymore for enemies. Oh I get material and the odd element, but my characters don’t improve anymore. What is this, Lost Odyssey? Material is useless because I lack iron, I have the best equipment I can have forged until I progress in the game. It’s weird.
And it’s weird the blacksmith says “we only carry the best equipment” but then makes you bring him material to forge. He doesn’t carry any equipment in other words. Translation issue? Ah well, we’ll figure something out.
Watched 2 more episodes while I ate lunch and did more reading.
One call, a lady who was scammed out of $900. Nice. Is that a new record? And they wouldn't take her credit card she gave them her bank information. Nice going, lady. I'm actually in awe at what scammers can achieve. It’s truly breathtaking. I’m going over there to make sure her machine is okay. And somehow they messed with her phone, but she knew it already, her caller ID now says eastman kodak for some reason. Not that I can do anything about that. Honestly, how is this still an issue in this day and age?
I mean, I saw a video detailing how one of these scammers had called some police station somewhere. This was their literal words:

Help ensure the problems of the computer? Really? Wouldn't have figured them to be so... honest.
Had some time before bed, put those notes into the optional rules. I forgot about them until now! Whoopsy!
Mon:
Got right to work, waiting for the monday morning meeting. Got set up for it anyway, and certainly didn't work on notes for the rules.
Had the meeting, everything's great, no problems whatsoever.
Then got to work on Print From Dropbox. Wrote 4 of today's 5 bugs, so that wasn't bad. Again, nicely done team!
That took all day, and it looks like the services have basically been covered so it's on to the less fun stuff for tomorrow. Like any of it is fun.
Went over to see scammed lady. Checked her machine, undid what they had done, no issues there, and came back here.
Ate dinner, thought of birthday gifts to suggest to Heather, thought about Unicorns for Mizzy's party, put in the notes from today, and did some reading.
Tues:
Finished two services as work today, Boot up and Recovery and Access Roles. Nice. Wrote 7 of the 18 bugs so that's not too bad. Yeah, our bug rate isn't going down any time soon by the looks.
Though some were minor, some are fairly serious like giving access to the website to the associate user, something the spec says is a NO.
Otherwise fairly boring. Did make more notes though, I keep remembering stuff, like "oh yeah that character did that one time" sort of thing.
Went to get the check, came home again.
Did the usual eating and sites and watching the videos. I had a laptop dropped off that isn't booting. So I took a look at that. chkdsk found some things but it still wouldn't boot. I tried a (ugh) system restore and that actually work. I feel dirty. I cleaned it out, he must have had Avast (the free antivirus) and then went out of his way to install Norton, without removing Avast. What was wrong with it? Or the built in one? *shakes head* Haven't seen a PC with Norton in ages. Takes me back.
Anyway, trying the update now, it's 7% complete.
It finally finished a little after 10:00 PM. That's what, 4 hours to do the whole job? How do you put up with a machine that slow? I mean the update just dragged on and on.
Wed:
Finished the card payment tests, which was not what I thought. That was payment. Whoops. No big deal, they all have to be done. Looked at the spec update for it after lunch, put in the .1 changes. Then loaded the new version and checked my resolved bugs. (Forgot it came out today, whoops again.)
Got through most of them, with the meeting tomorrow I'll probably just get to them and maybe half the next set of test cases? They've never really been run and I'm the worst person to run them because I wrote them. So I know what I meant. Someone else should have taken it, to make sure I did it right. But given the "speed" at which my "co-workers" move at, it would never be done.
Come back here, checked the sites, put the notes in I wrote today for the rules. No calls, but several hangups. Webster especially loves calling me at the moment. The entire town of webster. No fooling.
Watched the next episode of Supernatural. The colt finally reappears, wondered where that went to.
Made muffins. Got ready for tomorrow. Did some reading.
Thurs:
Worked though the spreadsheet and found almost all of the things they said were fixed had been. I wrote up two new bugs to capture those that had not and closed that bug, spreadsheet over.
Then went to the meeting, then started in on the payment test cases. Took the rest of the day, didn't finish.
Did have cookies though.
Came back here, checked the sites, ate dinner, put in the notes I had made, I hope this is nearing the end.
Two calls, one I made right when I got home because book lady (you know the one that didn't believe me when I said the antivirus that was built in was good enough and installed the paid version behind my back? Yeah, that one) has apparently screwed her machine up. She called someone else (for reasons?) who she said screwed it up worse! That'll learn ya! I offered to come right then but she said Saturday morning, so sigh or whatever.
Then someone else called about an iPhone. But not really an iPhone, just a suspicious message she got that I told her to ignore.
Watched the next Supernatural episode.
Got ready for tomorrow, and let's talk about the future, shall we. Bank tomorrow, I finally have enough checks, so that's a thing. Then shopping, getting gas, seeing my parents, and going over to Sean's. An act that will be repeated Saturday because I guess Stan is available again. That's good.
Then Sunday doing taxes, which will be quite fun I know. But what could be fun is making a pie. Nice March pie, for no reason at all, for this week, at all. I still have 2.5 bags of berries left, need to make me some pie!
So that's week 1 of March. Hope you're keeping warm out there, see you next week. I'm off to do more reading.
