2018-05-25:

Fri:
Mostly boring at work today. Got up to 100/200 on the reliability tests.

Made a few improvements to the little program as well, and to the data it imports. See, it has all the settings even when you don't change them. I decided, "hey, what if I erased the default settings and just left those settings that are changed?" Well, that worked out pretty well. So much less info to comb though.

Also looked at adding a little "you've worked on this for X minutes, and you've done Y number of tests so you'll be done in Z minutes." Just to depress me more.

Wrote up two bugs, the only two bugs written today thank you very much.

Went to the bank and shopping.

Ellen emailed me about 8 times and called again about her address book. She knows I'm at work during the day, right? I'm pretty sure she does.

Before I forget, here's the promised video about my car experience last week. Watch and be amazed.

There were trucks pulled up next to the pole a little ways down, some kind of fibre company I guess? Getting closer.

Cleaned up my "temp" hard drive a bit, been lazy about that. Watched bits of movies I've gotten over the years to see if I wanted to keep or chuck.

Then made calls. Talked to Ellen about another hour, getting her thunderbird looking more like outlook express and going over stuff.

No new calls, but I will talk to someone about their printer, probably just an IP address change.

No answer to my question about tomorrow, odd. I'll have to text him I guess.

Sat:
Did some writing in the morning. Got though Lysanias' challenge, and put a pokemon in! Thought about bringing him into the real world maybe as a companimal but no, that would probably be a bit much.

Need to think of the challenge for Rosalina. Something about wisdom.

Went out to my two jobs. Switched the two dumb units around and left them a different ethernet cable. He said it only happened maybe once or twice a day, so we'll see where the real problem lies now.

Then over to the jennifer house, to look at their fax machine. I tried a few things, hopefully it works out.

Came back, started to watch Jupiter Rising, then my father came over and we watched the latest star wars. Not as bad as I was led to believe. Crazy.

Finished Jupiter Rising and went to bed.

Sun:
Quite a relaxing day. Wrote up the wisdom portion of the next chapter, it involved a ghost and a not very happy ending for either party. That's wisdom, right? Now I just need courage. Hey, maybe a lion? NAhhhhh.

Cut the front lawn, it looks like the only part that grew was the blank spot. Weird.

Anyone want some logs? Ah too late, someone did take them. Enjoy!

Watched two movies from the "to watch" folder, both fairly good.

No calls, but one from yesterday. Unplugged monitor, so that's over. Nothing for tomorrow? Dare I to hope? To dream?

Got ready for tomorrow, only a four day week but I get to go back to the reliability test I'm only half done with. Yay.

Mon:
It took all day, thanks to meetings and more meetings, and staying an extra hour later, but I finished it. Noticed one or two odd things, but I think they're already written up. I did once get the "other" google sign in page, which I know isn't written up. I've seen it before but always forgot to get a picture. I'll write that up tomorrow.

Then probably work on AT&T stuff before Wednesday and verifying more bugs. Should be a busy week, despite only being four days.

Came back here, ate dinner, worked on chapter 10. I had figured out what I wanted the courage test to be, it was pretty simple actually. Now it's down to meet with the dragon.

Made my calls. The guy tomorrow for a tuneup, and dentist guy with what will no doubt be the usual list of crap two hours long on Wednesday. Also the nerve of the man. He starts the conversation with "I guess you were busy today." He had called me almost as I was heading out the door. Yeah, I work two jobs, did you forget? Because neither pays very well? Remember that? Then later it was "so are you coming tonight" in his second message. Then when talking to him it was "so how about tomorrow?"
Uh, no, how about "when can you see me?" or "What would be a good time for you?" I'm not your personal computer butler, dude. I have other people to see, and I still work full time. You get me when you get me. Your problems are not that serious, believe me.

Anyway, checked my sites, and it was time to get ready for tomorrow. (And feed kitties)

Tues:
Very busy and productive today. Spent the morning with the AT&T stuff, checking into code that probably hasn't changed a bit since the last version. I did notice a slight difference in type of password accepted between the older and newer products, so I wrote that up.

After a tasty lunch (as always) I moved on to the tablet stuff, and finished the print from one drive service. Still so many issues in that service, it's insane. It doesn't even have a scroll bar yet. Wrote a few things up, then like the last hour and a half after finishing the "official" test I was just poking it. Found a bunch of other problems. Why do I find more bugs just poking at it than through the official test cases? Are the test cases crap, or am I just that good? So about 6 bugs written by me today?

Went down 250 to the after work job. Updated some things, they didn't really have anything wrong. And came back here.

Checked my sites, no calls? Wha?

Worked on chapter 10, finished it, and started 11. Sheesh, 5 chapters of Inside Clary. I've forgotten what we were doing before all that.

Wed:
Another busy day, what's going on around here?

Spent the morning working on a test I did ages ago when AT&T first came around. It turns out this new feature sorta flips around a security thing so we've broken everything for everyone. Go us.

Once that was realized and documented I ate lunch (whew) had a brownie (thanks Cindy!) and went to work on tablet stuff.

Updated to the latest tablet stuff and hey, my home is gone. What the???

So I upgraded again and it was back. Yay! So I did most of my bug verification and yes, there were some new bugs to write you better believe it! I in fact wrote I think 5 of the 7 for today. Go me.

Then I go me to the dentist guy, who wasn't there. GURRRR. But then he was! The usual crap list of junk later and I was home by seven…………

Ate dinner, checked sites, had 4 calls but two were hangups and one was the same lady calling about some google thing or something and then saying it was fine. Whatever.

Got ready for tomorrow, and it's nine already. Wha?

Posted chapter 200 and 201 of Susan's Chronicles, so I'll be posting the PDF of them on the site soon. Soon. Very soon ish. I hope.

Thurs:
Guess I'm not getting as many berries this year. Why? Well, my idiot neighbors, you know, the ones that never cut their grass and drive over my lawn because they're too drunk or whatever to use their own driveway? Those guys? Yeah, you know the ones. Apparently they believed after 10 or so years of the berry bushes being there they just had to go.

[[image file="2018-05/berrypocolipse.jpg" alt="so sad" ]]

Those eagle eyed among you will notice several things:

1) They didn't bother to clean them up. Just left them there for me to clean up.
2) Some of those were on MY property, so they had no right to cut them down.

Morons. Why did they suddenly decide that, oh, after this long those bushes have to go? Their lawn still isn't cut at all this year, so they weren't out doing yard work. So what gives?

After coming home and being horrified at what I was seeing I dug up 7 of them and moved them along the fence, clearly on my property.

[[image file="2018-05/wateredberry.jpg" alt="live my berry bush live" ]]

Will they survive? Not sure but I'll try my best. If not I'll see about buying more or transplanting some from other parts of the yard. I'm still seething about it.

But trying to calm down by looking at this cute picture of a squirrel in my front tree.

Otherwise the day went fairly well. Did the testing of the card icons, they all seem to be there apart from two which were already known. So well done, that's been a long time coming. Wrote a bunch of bugs, of course, because that's my job. I'm pushing close to 600, still double anyone else and triple others. 15x some others that will not be mentioned.

Had meetings, one more than usual in fact, about the EIP stuff.

Did a little writing maybe? No, that would have been wrong, I didn't do that.

Dropped off the switch box and set stuff up for her. No problems there.

Got home, berry bush slaughter, cleaned up, replanted, then made my one call. 30 minutes of cleaning a machine out, but 10 of those minutes were him trying to connect me, a total of 5 mouse clicks and typing my IP address into a box. So tough.

Ate dinner at 8:00, cleaned up stuff, no work tomorrow! Yay! Checked my sites. Watched a video about a rare star wars figure I actually own. Neat!

Will do the shopping, see my parents as normal, probably do some writing tomorrow. Not sure what I want to do tonight, maybe another episode of the expanse?

Saturday is Sean board game night with, uh, I guess about everybody according to the email. Sheesh, can he host that many people at once? And a baby?

One week to getting the points off my teeth. Can't wait. That's it, have a good weekend if that suits you. Or not, as you please. I'm not gonna stomp all over your berry bushes.

(You know those things are coming back, right? They'll just regrow. You didn't dig them up, just stopped their current growth. What have you achieved? NOTHING. You are MORONS. OH, I'm so mad)
