Fri:
Welcome to the first of two Friday the 13ths this year. Hope it went well for everyone.
Went fine for me, another day of great effort by the whole team, tons of bugs written, which is what I like to see. I myself finished up the scan service and moved on to the print service. No meetings but the lab is still cold. Everyone that comes in there says it, but no one does anything about it. Ain't that the way?
I did think about, and put a few lines down, about the upcoming story but nothing concrete yet.
Actually forget the checks so no bank, just going to the store and seeing my parents. A yummy dinner with them and it was back here for the evening activities. No calls, the universe is kind, so I checked my sites, got ready for tomorrow… and book guy called. He can't get into his yahoo account, what a shock. So I have at least two tomorrow. I still have the battery for the guy, I'll call him after the 8:30 and see if he's around.
Thought more about plot, want something interesting of course. Sort of did the day to day stuff with Susan, so I don't want to rehash that. We'll see, it'll come.
Might get an ice storm tomorrow, neato! Isn't it spring? The calendar clearly says spring.
Sat:
Got up at the usual time to get to my 8:30. No rain yet.
Went over there, it was a Mac. Started the transfer, which worked as she was using 10.6 not 10.5 as she had previously stated. I'm pretty sure that's what she told me. Anyway, with no ethernet it was wireless or nothing. I chose you, wireless. Estimate said 5 hours. Uh, not sticking around.
Delivered battery, was home by 10:00. No rain.
Got out my Aladdin lamp. Still no genie, got it ready. Must order more wicks, the one that was on there just disintegrated so I had to replace it. Ready!
Have been thinking about plot, nothing major has come to me.
Ate lunch, went out for my 1:00 book guy appointment.
He was all like "I thought you were coming at 1:00."
"It is one."
"I forgot to move the clocks back since we've been back!"
"…"
Anyway he did actually know his yahoo password, so that helped.
Came back here, more work into the story.
2:00, still no rain. Somewhat windy though. (But then everybody knows it's windy)
3:00 - have a bunch of plot! Hopefully have a good amount and it's fairly interesting. No rain.
Still no rain at 5:00.
8:30 and it's a little crunchy out there, but not too bad. Didn't seem like it was raining at all, let's keep it that way.
Finished chapter 9.
Sun:
Didn't get too much ice, kept power on the whole night and it was raining when I got up in the morning.
Worked on chapter 10.
Then watched a few things.
Made one call, the guy on bay road just down the street with an email issue. Didn't reach two others.
Mon:
The rain continued.
I turned my garbage can lid over before I left, and it was about half full after what nine hours? That's a lot of rain.
You know what else there was a lot of? Boring work! Yes, finished up the print service in the morning, and had the quick AT&T meeting. Then in the afternoon had the tablet meeting which as usual went on and on. I did get some work done on the 10x reliability, so we have that to look forward to going back to tomorrow.
The issue with the people down the street was the iPad not getting an IP address. Finally rebooted the darn thing and it picked it right up. Go figure.
Back here I got a lovely, lovely letter from my state gobmint that I owed them the $280 I had already sent them! Yes, isn't that lovely? Wait, this seems so familiar… that's right they did the same "trick" last year. And as last year going to the website to dispute it resulted in "incorrect number" so I couldn't. Yay! I busted out the Mac mini, the machine that accepts the modem, and FAXed them like it was 1999. Wait, did I do that joke last year? I think I did that joke last year. Seriously, how hard is it to keep track of my electronically submitted payments? Why do I bother sending in estimated payments if you're just going to lose them? Do you think I'll just send the money and you keep it for 6 months interest free until you "find" the "glitch?" I don't get it.
Ate dinner, checked my sites.
Got a guy back on firefox for an hour. Ugh his machine was slow. Why did he have three copies of firefox installed in various locations? Very odd.
Then 15 minutes getting mbmam run on another machine.
By then it was about 9:00, so I got ready for tomorrow.
Tues:
Continued the boring process of the 10x reliability. Did not finish it, so I have more to look forward to tomorrow. However, given my only appointment is at 6:30, at his request, I may do an hour overtime. I will have plenty of bugs to go though, so might as well get to it.
Wrote up two bugs, one rather serious one as running sharepoint three times made it hang, then the next time running it eight times made it hang. Whoops. Not good.
Otherwise it proceeds just fine.
Went out the house with the indoor pool I wanted to buy (I told that story, go back and look it's there someplace) and got them looked at. He says it "hangs" but couldn't demonstrate. I did what I could, mbam found nothing so… Checked another laptop, and got their dance game working. Some weird software in the phone made it all blurry. It's kind of neat the xbox can interface with a cell phone to be used in a dance game. Just don't drop it/fling it!
Back here at 6:30 I resigned myself to making calls, and got my websites ready to read. But they were both hangups! Yay!
Ate dinner, checked my sites, finished chapter 11. Took a very different turn, the random level I chose to have Lysanias run though gets you Rosalina, which I didn't know beforehand. So I had her at the end of the level and though "wouldn't it be cool if she was the spirit of the wand?"
It just got more awesome from there. Believe me.
Bedtime.
Oh, and it snowed today, and accumulated, so there was that.
Wed:
Busy day today. We got both software but I only looked at AT&T. The one last feature finally works, hurray. Got it tested, on one machine, anyway. But before that I finished the 10x stuff I was doing yesterday. Fax glitched out once, strangely. Otherwise it was just boring as before, running job after job.
Then the AT&T stuff like I said, and verifying the closed bugs for that program. Still have more to do, I stayed an hour and got the other machine ready. It was giving me some problems, but I'm set for tomorrow.
Came back here, ate dinner, checked my sites. Then went out at 7:00, after calling him and changing it from 6:30. "Oh, someone will be there if you come early," he said. Nope. Got there at 6:55 and there was nobody there. Nice. But they came right after that, and it was just the one side of the front case that had come off. The hinged part, so I had to take the side off, unhook it, and just slide it back in place. Took all of thirty seconds, didn't even need a screwdriver. You couldn't have managed that?
Back here I made my calls, only one, dentist guy wasn't in tonight. So I have a place near work tomorrow.
Finished chapter 13, now at 47,866 words for this one. Promises to be a long one.
Thurs:
Another busy day! Finished up the web service for the C7000 and then did a quick check of the other stuff, to make sure it was all the excellent quality and polish we've come to expect. Had a meeting for the tablet side that took, as usual, far too long.
After lunch I went back to the tablet side, getting more info on a bug, updating to the latest, and starting on my FIFTY ONE resolved bugs. Sheesh. I'm sure no code regressions were created at all. None. Not a one. Only got through a few.
Went to the nearby lady's house. She had a bunch of firefox add ons, and running Vista as she is she can't update to a never version of FF. Her printer was pretty dead, having a plastic piece snapped off the cartridge holder. It also didn't print black. I recommended a new one.
Headed down to staples, and the one printer they had that served her needs didn't support Vista. Way to lose a sale, Brother. The HP they had that was similar wasn't in stock. And they wonder why retail is dying? Ended up just ordering it. Sigh.
Back here I checked my sites, ate dinner, and made phone calls. Dentist guy for the third time in how many weeks Saturday morning. Then a guy not too far from there after that. Yay.
Was snowing fairly hard a little while ago, haven't seen that in what, two days?
And worked on chapter 15. Lysanias destroyed two bullies, what a shock. Is chi-blocking over powered? Wait what I am saying?
Future: More bug reviewing tomorrow, should be a good time. Will I get though the 45 or so that are left? Who knows!
Shopping, not worth going to the bank, and my parents won't be there. Won't be there next week either. But that's a tale for next week.
Nothing from Sean either, but with a little luck at least Sunday may be work free.
Guess that's it, hope it's nice and warm where you are, because it sure ain't here. See you next time.
