2017-08-25:

Fri:
Did the thinprint stuff in the morning, though thinprint wasn't anywhere near a machine. It was just cloning and cert stuff. Hate it, yes we do.

Then back to testing the tablet stuff. Doc conversion, boring but a few interesting things happened. Like hangs and such. So I'll be writing up a few things now that the test is over.

Did the usual, then went to my parent's house.

Came back, made phone calls, have Saturday all booked up. Sean wants to get together, but no game. They hate me and all that I stand for. It's fine, I let their hate pass over me, and only I remain.

Checked my sites, finished chapter 2 and started chapter 3.

Sat:
Fair amount of running around today.

Worked a very minor amount on chapter 3 before I left.

First person had no issue at all. She claimed the e-card website was telling her she was not subscribed anymore, but she was. And it did not.

Second people had a failed HD, good thing I ordered an extra SSD this time.

Third guy with AOL gold will hopefully remember how to open firefox and then click mail, but I highly doubt it.

Next guy wasn't there, didn't answer when his wife called/texted, so we couldn't get in because she didn't know the password. This was the angry lady from before. Still angry irrationally.

Then came back here, finished the chapter, then went out to see Les, got his player working by switching cables, he found an MP3 player with twice the capacity, got that working. (Apparently he forgot he owned it? How is that…)

Then over to Sean's. Where I won scythe. Not by much, and only because of territory. Looking at the board mid game I figured I wasn't matching anyone in much else, and everyone was sort of hanging out in their own little space, so I just spread out massively. Worked out. Used my favorite factory card, too. Nice.

Had yummy cake too. Yay for cake!

Sun:
A lot of writing and the usual sunday stuff took place toady. Got though chapter 5, it's going well, Korra is right where I want her.

Watched a bit more Lost Girl as well, as Sean gave me Season 5 "and 6" which is just a weird numbering convention, it's no longer than a normal series.

Not many calls, the person I was just at saturday morning with the dead HD now says his machine, the HD was plugged into to back up, is acting up. Sigh.

Mon:
More testing. Got through the rest of the preview stuff by writing some bugs, and then started scan to google service. I have no idea why, it's just as broken as it was before. Nothing has changed.

And our new guy game. At least I can remember his name, it's my middle name. Apparently he's like me, a Xeroxer who came back. Christina knew him of old, and the others had seen him around previously. He's the most soft spoken fellow I have ever met. Speak up!

Wrote a few more bugs, I think I did 6-7 of the 10 for today? I'm back, baby!

Finally got the guy I've been to three times now squared away. His HD took some TLC but I finally got the stuff off it. Stupid windows.

Back here I watched more lost girl, checked my sites, and made no phone calls because I didn't have any! So there.

Oh, saw a few minutes of the eclipse. Got some special glasses from Chris, so that happened.

Time for one more episode I think.

Tues:
More powering through test cases at work. Made up a little "sign up sheet" because the board was getting crowded. I've gotten though preview, print and scan with google, print from dropbox, and I'm finishing the admin area. I'm up to 88 bugs, at least double anyone else (because Giuseppe cheated and took a bunch of mine during the move from the old project to the new.) The new guy was poking around copy, and I guess Giuseppe did something or other, hard to really tell with him.

Ah well, enough bragging. I found more stuff to write up, it's my job, no big deal.

Picked up the laptop at the post office because I had to sign for it, then went to see book guy. Yes, he screwed the pooch I mean book up again. He's trying to redo the index and had 7 separate documents for it, and he had thrown away #1 somehow. Yeah. It was just gone. Moron. How do you even make SO MUCH MORE WORK for yourself by making 7 documents instead of just going down the page in a single document? It's nuts. He's nuts! (And yes, I heard the usual litany of 'it wasn't my fault' and 'it's the computer' don't you worry about that.) So I gathered them up, put them into one document, restored the A,B,C entries from my backup, and told him to fix it. Chance of him actually fixing it: 0%. Chance of me having to actually fix it: 100%.

Back here I watched a bit more Lost Girl, and finished chapter 6. Didn't proof it, I'll do that tomorrow. Still, not a bad night's work. Not bad at all.

Wed:
Running out of work again. Got through a total of 7 of the 28 test documents now, total. All the services are done, we're getting into the yucky stuff that's either really long or really annoying or both. Only wrote up two new bugs. Basically everything else hasn't been touched, so there's honestly nothing I'm going to find doing anything else. But I'll press on, whatever.

Did a bit of typing practice the last hour, doing more tablet stuff is pointless.

Got back, took delivery of the books, yay! Nearly perfect. The title of the cover of book 2 needs to be scaled down just a tiny bit. Sigh. Ah well, it's fine. Also got the 2 SSDs so I started the laptops installing.

Checked my sites, ate dinner. Watched more Lost Girl and did a bit of writing. No calls, but I'm taking the laptops with me, I can drop off the one if I reach the other person tomorrow.

Thurs:
No bugs written today. Did the alerts test, thanks past me for setting it up the way you did! Anyway, it was fine. We have one service left, Giuessepe had the dropbox service locked but apparently wasn't doing it. So I may do that tomorrow, or if the thinprint stuff is in, do that. We're having a meeting about hooking it up to the third party service the client actually wants. Whoops, may not be possible? Hahahah.

Tray 14 is killing me! The others have been very gradual, this one is brutal. I even checked the number to make sure I didn't get 15 by accident. Oh well, another day or two and that should be fine.

Delivered both laptops, got the stuff transferred from the old one. He was supposed to have it on a portable drive, he didn't. So that doubled the time. Thanks, dude.
At least his basement machine was okay.

Back here at 7:00, one call, no answer. Made an appointment for Monday though with someone calling later. A cleanout. I actually had 6 messages. She called twice, four "out of area" calls that hung up. Telemarketing is still a thing? Weird.

No news from Sean, may not do anything over there this week. Usual stuff tomorrow, bank, shopping, see my parents. Nothing for Saturday or Sunday at the moment, but I'll probably reach the one lady at some point.

One episode of lost girl to go. And a chapter to finish, I want the librarian to come to the aid of the avatar and Lysanias as a replacement for the two brothers the show had. And maybe one other, we'll see who they run into? I was thinking about what to do last night, and thought that might be cool, to have a librarian go on the adventure with them. She's water, Korra is air because she's struggling to learn that, Lysanias could be earth for the shield motif, I would just need fire.

Summer is over, lows in the 50s for the forceable future. Yay. Get out my blankets.
