2017-06-23:
Fri:
Thought about it and thought about it.
Then I thought, hey, everyone loves a jailbreak, right?
A jailbreak story. A story… about a jailbreak. That's what I meant. For wrongfully imprisoned people, I want to be sure to add. But the spells "dead magic" and "destroy magic" seem to whack some supernatural stuff too? So I'm going to ask Sean about it. The jailbreak will proceed, just the plan might have to be different.
With that decided on I wrote up the rest of the notes for the third book and started writing it.
Oh yeah work, or something. Uh, yeah, just waiting for software really. I did look the draft VBS over and had some questions. Made a new test case or two.
My parents were home after the shopping so I had dinner there. Dad said no to more Dr Who tonight so I came back, checked my sites, and finished chapter 1.
Sat:
Proofread chapter 1, added a bit more to it.
Cut the front lawn as it seems to be forecast=rain tomorrow.
Berries are coming in nicely, soon have pie again. And then I won't have pie, and then summer will be over and it'll be winter again. How depressing.
That little bush I transplanted also seems to be fine, he's doing well there.
Went out to see the lady about her Mac, and printing and time machine and whatever. Was she there? No. Did she answer her phone? No! waited twenty minutes. When I got home (much later) there was no call with an apology. Thanks for wasting my time, lady.
Over to Sean's, finished up the last adventure but as our two other players had to leave somewhat unexpectedly we did not move on to the next. Instead we watched some Get Smart, some Teen Titans, and won the mario game we've been playing for some time. After many, many deaths.
Had excellent pizza made by Sean, too. Let's not forget that.
Sun:
Watched a few things. Episode 1 of season 3 Rick and Morty. Dr Who latest episode. The movie Sean gave me. (John Wick shoots everybody) Then finished chapter 2 and 3 (which was less than one page). Did some house stuff, did my paperwork from last month. It alternately rained and was sunny today.
No calls over the weekend, so I get to come home early tomorrow.
Mon:
Not much to say about work. The meeting with the thinprint folks was delayed until tomorrow. So I still have nothing to test yet.
Came back home, checked my sites.
I've finished up through chapter 5, 15,000 words. They built a flying machine!
One call, so I have a job for Saturday of all things. I offer you the whole week and you pick Saturday? Oh well.
Tues:
Had the meeting with the thinprint person. It was a bit late, apparently they hadn't gotten the email or something? Anyway, it was Germany, which is six hours ahead of us. Sheesh. But I got the information I needed, and it's a bizarre way of going about things as usual. But it works, so I know how to set it up when the feature gets implemented.
The rest of the day I did some test case revision, put them up on the site (which the developers shouldn't see. Make your own test cases, don't write the software just to match mine). Didn't do any typing practice, I had a combat to write which I didn't want to do there. It's tough enough doing it here.
Came back here, finished chapter 6, another attack. But they're to Everwatch and about to meet the girl I haven't named yet. Probably should think of that, and get her character sheet ready.
Had a few calls, Saturday lady called, said she was home. Oh really? Why did you not answer your phone, twice? Also, look at what day it is. Yeah, THREE DAYS LATER. But I agreed to go out there again. Because I'm a moron.
So I have three saturday already. Why does everyone want that day? Nothing for tomorrow. So weird. So I have my parent's animals to feed, then three jobs? So great.
Not sure what I'll do at work tomorrow. Still have at least a week before the final release of the AT&T stuff, and two weeks before anything thinprint related comes out. Though the spec drafts should be ready soon, maybe I can get the real test case document started.
Wed:
Not much work news, didn't get specs. May have some fun getting wireshark stuff tomorrow.
Worked on chapter 8.
One call, then several more. Just questions. First day of summer. Yup, it's all downhill from here. Days get darker, until its snow time. I'm dreading the winter coming on.
Thurs:
Today started fine.
Got over to my parent's house, everybody was fine. No one was dead. I want to stress this, that nobody had died. I did not go and buy any identical pets to replace any dead pets. Want that to be purrfectaly I mean perfectly clear to everyone.
Successfully fulfilled the request for a wireshark trace of the activity of using thinprint at the client. Go me, didn't even ask for Chris' help.
Then we got gotten the specs, so I put my test cases from before into the proper order and made some new ones based on the actual document. No problem.
Then finished chapter 8 and chapter 9! I had pretty much already written 9 I just had to type it.
Then came the pain.
You know what I haven't said in ages? I hate windows! Yeah, feels reeeeeeal good to say that again. OR no, what's the opposite of that?
After this lady did "an update" now she just gets a black screen when it boots. As I tried for nearly two hours to figure out this wonderful new MS trick it actually got worse. Now it hangs on boot. Yay!
Brought it home at about 7:00, took tons of dust out of it. It's now at least getting to the black screen again.
Tried some unusual tricks, as it gets to the login screen. I replaced the utility for controlling the accessibility features with cmd so I could get to a command prompt. Tried to get the windows update app I downloaded to work. Nope. Did get mbam to run, it didn't find anything. CCleaner won't run, which is odd. Well, I'm going to download the latest 10 and maybe I can get to it? I ran sfc /scannow which UNDID my change, thanks a bunch, so I have to do that again.
Honestly, I hate windows so much.
Few calls, didn't reach my buddy ellen and didn't really understand her message so I have no idea what she wants.
Anyway, back there tomorrow morning, then ??? at work. No bank, as no jobs. But I'll do the shopping. Saturday I have three then Sean's house.
Everyone enjoying your summer? Looks like 80s and rain tomorrow. Rained a little today on the way home too. See you later.
