Fri:
Another stay at home day, yay! At least I guess. Wrote a bunch, managed to finish Chapter 265, 266, and get 2/3 of the way through 267. Yes!
They were starting the repairs at 3:00 today, hopefully everything will be done by Monday.
My saturday one called, her internet is down so I'm not going there tomorrow. So it seems the only place to go is Sean's house. Hopefully I can get gas before I go. At the station I usually use, I mean.
Went to the bank, got stuff for yummy soup as I figure it's going to be cold, let's enjoy yummy soup some more before spring. Then saw my parents. They were doing much better than last week, so that's good.
Came back, more writing, checked my sites, and it's bedtime.
Sat:
Turned out Kate was sick, so we didn't do pyre as we had planned. Just Adam showed up and we did Scythe. I did not win. Also did not win at the deck building game. Ah well.
Otherwise, wrote the last bit of the Luna story, finishing chapter 267 and 268, which brought us back to the current time. Now to rescue Susan's father!
Sun:
Did not do any chapter writing, but instead wrote up the outline for the rescue. That should make the last chapters come pretty easily, as it worked out well for the Luna stuff.
Lost power at 5:00 but got it back at 6:30.
Other things done today- made soup, cleaned up a bit, put the stack of comics into the inventory program, booked tomorrow for a dead DVD player with a disk stuck inside? Okay, I guess.
Got the 10 bottles of waterbed conditioner today. Had to check the calendar, it's Sunday, right? Weird.
Watched 3x3 eyes finally, cleaned up my "do something with these files later" drive.
Viewed my sunday sites, got ready for tomorrow very early in case I didn't have power when it got dark. But I did.
Mon:
I'm buying a sportcar. That is what one does, right?
Anyway, back to work, pip pip, got right back to it. Everyone was talking about the recent power outage, some had power, others did not. Fascinating. But I can't fault them, can I? No, no I cannot. They had stories to tell, and an audience. Just like my story. Of course, you can choose to read my story, or not, as you wish. Is this more consideration or more conceit, I can never know, given me.
I got through several of the more minor tests, and started work on the complete one for the second printer family picking up where I left off. Didn't get all the way through, partly because CWW doesn't seem to believe that model exists, and partly because I just ran out of time.
On to the combo DVD/VHS player. It was dead, all right. I took it apart to get the disk out and left my power cable there by accident. Sigh.
Back here I watched the rest of the Sherlock episode I finally remembered I had last night, and then another, and then the opening minutes of another. It's very good.
Supposed to be a foot of snow or more over the next two days. This event has already begun.
Sean texted very early about this Friday, we're trying again to do Shadowrun. I've booked a job nearly there earlier, so let's hope it stays on track this time.
And one for tomorrow, just up the street from me. My favorite windows temp profile garbage, you know that thing that doesn't plague macs. Ever, that I've heard of anyway. Because we don't have stupid registry entries that get corrupted.
Remember when I used to get my car inspected on the 13th?
Hope everyone had a great Commonwealth Day. Weren't too bothered by the time change, I hope? Was there some other event? Nah, guess not.
Tues:
Snow, snow, and late to work. Apparently I lost power at some point last night, delightful. This knocked out my alarm clock, so instead of a bit of news and traffic I woke up to "flash" "flash" "flash" "Oh I wonder what time it is? Almost 8:00. Brilliant."
So I got to work a bit late, but a wasn't the last in! hahah! Snow and yuck all day, and more tonight and tomorrow.
Got down to testing. Finished the second full test, may have worked on battle runner v2 while waiting for machines to reboot. May not of, can't prove it. Ugh, two more weeks of testing this same product I already know is fine? Yay.
Out past my house to the stupid profile missing person. The usual fix was not usual, it didn't want to stick. Had to copy everything into a new profile. Thanks MS.
Finally got home, ate soup, watched the last bit of sherlock. Very odd ending, didn't much care for it.
Only one call, and he doesn't have his stupid machine password. What a shock. No job for tomorrow, and I won't want to go into work tomorrow either, I can tell you that. It's nasty out there!
Did the driveway. That was fun, I went in halfway through to get more clothes on, despite having earmuffs, scarf, gloves, safety glasses, jacket.
Ordered more of my favorite hot cocoa. It better be my favorite, I just got a year's supply of it. Amazon, where I had bought it before, had a 12 pack for less than $90. I think that works out to be about .24 a cup. Much better than the .75 pods the machine sells, or whatever I was buying before. 24lbs of hot cocoa mix, it just seems absurd in some way.
Wed:
Was there snow? Oh yes, there was snow aplenty. So much to go around, you don't need to hog it, honest. Share it with everyone.
Had to snowblow the driveway just to get out, so that was a fun time.
Work was boring. Just doing the same thing for another type of printer I've already done twice before. Yay. Not many people in, actually. Wonder why? A whole string of "I'm 'working from home' today" emails when I arrived. Uh huh, sure you are. Sure.
But I did. John was there, wanted to send a "I'm working from work" email which would have been hilarious.
Also solved the battle runner 2 table issue. Not in an elegant way or anything, but it works as well as I make it work. Stupid thing is just broken. You take the thing out into a new project and it just simply doesn't work. It hasn't for some time, I really wish they would fix it.
Came back here, ate dinner. Started chapter 269.
One call, someone across the street from me that got scammed or something? Said she didn't give her credit card number out, so it's probably fine. I'll check it over though.
Should be "nicer" pretty soon. As in not as much snow from the sky, but still plenty to deal with where we are now.
Back to work tomorrow to finish the third round of testing. It's fine, honest.
Oh well, it's a job. Then I can start testing the newer product, which is the same test as what I'm doing now. Sigh.
Nothing else exciting I guess. Halfway through March!
Thurs:
More of the same, except for the fact we got another new build. Sigh. Some obscure bug that happens if you have three specific things turned on. I don't get to start over, exactly, but whatever I can do, you know, do it.
Got through the third full test, made a few notes in the Out of the Flood file and a few changes to the battle runner 2.
Sunny out, the snow even started to melt a bit. Let's keep that up.
Went across the street and did the cleanout. Mbam found nothing, but I had taken some junk off before that. Vista machine, sigh.
Support for that ends apparently next month, I read on Slashdot. Neat.
Back here I ate dinner, checked my sites, etc. 4 phone calls. Walked a person though some stuff remotely, didn't reach one, made an appointment for Monday (no wait she called back, it's saturday now) and the guy that keeps rotating his screen needed the key combo to rotate again. Here's a tip, MS, if you put in a feature that no one wants (like why rotate a laptop screen. It's dumb) put in a "are you sure" prompt before actually doing it. He keeps doing it and calling me to get him out of it. It's annoying.
Almost finished Chapter 269. Was using the new battle runner, I think it's working out very well. I now wish I had put in the save feature, which I didn't think I would need. Sigh.
No cancelation this week for Saturday so far, so I have two at the moment. Tomorrow, no bank but shopping. Still have plenty of cat food.
Wait do I have to go to a party someplace? Eh, it'll come to me.
Nothing for sunday at the moment. First day of SPRING on the 20th. Winter always starts super early, let's start spring super early for once. Oh wait, we already missed it. Darn.
See you all next week.
