2016-04-15:

Fri:
My goal for the day was 100 scan to google jobs.
I reached 85% of my goal.
In the morning my supervisor was like "hey, want to install this special build with more logging relating to copy so maybe we can track down that bug with the collated slider going missing?" I was all like, sure!

But when it installed, I found a bunch of bugs already fixed, and came to discover it was an old build, a 4.2 build. Well, there goes testing anything else, right? So we tried to put 5.0 back. Didn't like that. Something with copy, their installer is a bit… stupid? Anyway, I erased copy and then it was happy. Whatever. But lost two hours doing that whole thing.

Didn't see any of the 8 I think bugs I am trying to verify are fixed. I did see the one he "can't reproduce" about four times or maybe three. So there's that. Monday I'll do the last 15 jobs and declare the others fixed, or at least seen so infrequently it doesn't matter.

Oh, and the password of the day was BUNY. Bunny!

Went to the bank, got groceries, and then to my parent's house. Had a yummy dinner and came home.

One call, so I have a job Sunday (yuck) and put stuff away around here.

Got back to work on chapter 193.

Slow going! Still not done, and these vampire things are going to be really, really tough to kill. Stupid 13 REF. Who gives something a 13 REFlexes? Ugh. Maybe I shouldn't have had her fighting six of them at once?

Sat:
Had the two appointments today. The first, setting up a new laptop because hers wouldn't turn on any more. Went fine, but I once again discovered my hatred of trying to move Windows Live Mail around. At least she had absolutely no files to move, so I got out of there early.

The next one was just down the street. Didn't even turn it on, she had two leaking capacitors. So I brought it back and tore it to pieces. Turned out one I had already replaced at that location. Maybe it actually needs a bigger one? Anyway, that done I let it run and went over to my parent's house. My mother finished the taxes and I came back here.

Oh, and I helped move a ton of wood pellets, 40lbs at a time. My contribution was to drop them down a chute.

The PC was still running, so I called her and asked if she wanted it back. She did, so I brought it to her.

Back here I proofread 193 that I finally finished, the vampire fight begins in ernest next chapter. Have no idea how it's going to go.

Watched my shows that I usually watch Sunday. What can I say, we're getting near the end so stuff is getting real! No Supergirl this week though.

Made my one phone call, then started work on chapter 194.

Sun:
Got up a bit late (8:00! woohoo) and got ready for my first job. Left a bit late, hadn't written down the time it was going to take me to get there and it was way past lollypop farm, so… yeah. Anyway, just a checkup after a scam. Expired McAfee, you know, the usual.

Got back here, at lunch and worked on chapter 194. When Susan puts her mind to it, even vampires are no problem for her. Reminds me of Carlita. Sean threw a vampire at us once and she just bashed it with her whip and it went down. She was all like "why were you all so worried again?"

Still a pretty interesting fight, all told.

Started Batman v Superman that a coworker gave me, and then went out to my 4:00. It was a pretty short one, just one of those "you have to run chkdsk for some bizarre reason or I BSOD on boot" situations. So I did. Stupid thing.

Came back here, finished the movie, had dinner. Made a few calls, but no job for tomorrow yet.

I did sell a few more controllers and games, so I boxed them up.

Mon:
Somewhat slow going today. I did finish the 15 last scan jobs I wanted to do, and saw a "your scan failed" and somehow canceling a job caused the whole machine to shut down. Good times.

Then I took up the mission of taking a zillion screenshots to compare them to each other and the documentation. The checkout buttons are all over the place, not a one follows the standard. It's a mess.

Got through at least all the features screens, so as the others are far less cluttered, they should be a snap.

Went to the post office, sent in my tax stuff, thanks again mom! Then went and bought tape. Which is surprisingly expensive, actually. I bought the cheaper stuff that was even cheaper when you bought 2, so I paid $16 for 12 rolls. I got $5 off because they like me enough to send me random rewards. Randomly. But the "better" stuff was 6 rolls for like $30. Guess I'll just use twice as much and still come out ahead of that game.

Must have sold another group of games late and didn't see it, I had another payment waiting for me so I boxed that up. Two, actually, but I haven't been paid for the other.

Weather is still nasty. Might get just below not horrible by Saturday?

Started chapter 195. Doomsday!

Tues:
Got the screenshot collection complete, and learned some disturbing things. The next release to staples has been pushed out two weeks, but that still doesn't take us into May. Huh? That doesn't seem like enough time, for the original or the new schedule. Oh well.

I'm back on copy, and we should be getting a new release tomorrow. So on to the endgame, I guess.

Came back here, made one call but it was just a question. Which I have 100% forgotten what it was now. Huh.

Checked my websites, ate dinner, worked on 195 but didn't get very far.

Spent an hour on the phone trying to get an iPad back online. He insists he has a netgear router. And his wireless was airnet. But when I asked him to view the router settings he got his modem setting page. So I said to reset it, and airnet went away. But on his PC it was just the modem still. So I remoted into his machine and set that up. Of course it's a crappy RR modem so if you change the wireless name it turns off. So he couldn't have been using it. But where's this supposed netgear router? I never saw it. An hour.

Sunny when I left, crappy when I got back. Seems about right.

Looking forward to copy!

Wed:
We did get the new build today, though it has a different build number (tomorrow) than we expected. I emailed my supervisor if this was some sort of mixup or are all my bugs fixed against the NEXT version of software. Didn't hear back.

So I started copy. Actually found something too, if you time out on one screen, the next person sees it doing a copy. Neat! And huh?

Wrote up a few minor things, went through the google service quite quickly in the morning before the new build and found at least one thing there. So the day passed pretty quick.

The after work job was resetting a Mac password which as I expected was blank, so didn't need resetting at all. Also made her an encrypted disk image to put stuff in, and answered a few questions.

Came back here, checked my sites, then made phone calls. Made a bunch, I got the PC in so I called him. He's brining his old one here, so that'll save me some time. Booked tomorrow and another for Saturday in the afternoon. Plus answered a few questions for people.

Finally finished chapter 195. Doomsday took 135 points of damage and is still kicking. Sweet.

Thurs:
And the day was going well.

Did copy all day. Got pretty far into it, which is what happens when you can just read the requirement and don't need to look at the steps anymore. "Oh yeah, that works, here, I'll just *tap tap* yup like I thought. Next."

But I did find some new issues, odd ones, and wrote them up. Found something suspicious I'm going to look more into in the morning, I ran out of time. No meeting today, don't know why we were all around.

Then went to see the guy for the mostly unneeded tuneup. He had one of those stupid auto launching fake window "i'm doing something" sort of malware that I killed in two seconds. Ran the usual scans, no problems.

It was after that.

Three calls, so I have Saturday booked up. The last one was the worst. It was only partly her fault. It seems the yahoo "forgot your password" system is "do you have access to this other yahoo account? No? Too bad so sorry bye."

Really? No secret questions? No text message code? Nothing?

To chat with them you need to put in another valid email address, but of course she hadn't used her RR one in years. She didn't even think she had one, but yeah, she did. It was her husband's. Of course it was disabled, so I told her to call and have them reactivate it.

Naturally she was unable to accomplish even this. Marvelous. More than an hour and I still have to go over there to talk to time warner myself, and I doubt the chat system with yahoo will be open at 4:00 pm on a saturday. But it could, I guess?

Still, yahoo? Why?

So that ate up the evening and so I did nothing else. No writing, nothing. Thanks lady. I love being your free tech support, I really do.

No message from Sean, so it looks like this week is out as well. Tomorrow I'm going to see Star Wars with my father, go to the bank, grocery shop… hum… I'll have to put my food in the fridge there, it'll be too warm (I know I can't believe I'm saying that either) for it otherwise. Unless I go home from there and then go back. I could, it's not that far. Yeah, I might do that.

Do more copy, maybe start the horrible, horrible matrix I hated so much before. Good times.

Saturday like I said is pretty booked. Installing the modem in the morning, then three in the afternoon finishing with yahoo lady. Gonna be so fun.

Won't make calls tomorrow, but with no Sean I could Saturday, so probably have more "fun" sunday as well.

Hope your weekend is better than mine! See you all next week.
