Fri:
Switched over to copy today midway through, at the request of Senpai. Found a few bugs straight away and then no others. Like if you use Auto paper supply and have at some point in the past used SEF 8.5X11 through the bypass tray, it's going to use the bypass tray. Oh, and it'll pretend it's charging you for letter, but really charge you for legal. Whoops.
His matrix was head over heels for 25% reduction and auto so I finally just figured I would skip the stupid things. Honestly, the weights on some of the things he put into his tool to make the spreadsheets we were using were kinda wonky.
Otherwise, uh, nothing much. Huh.
Did the shopping and visited my parents. Saw poor bunny with a broken leg, and my father who was not quite completely recovered. Poor sod.
Yummy dinner though.
Came back here, had two calls and as of 7:30 haven't reached either.
Tax form didn't come today. And Sean was considering running the Wanderer game tomorrow, but hasn't gotten back to me about it so who knows what's going on tomorrow.
Back to writing I guess.
Nearly finished chapter 191.
Sat:
Finished chapter 191. There was some crazy rain a minute ago, and now it's snowing. Wonderful.
Snowed most of the day, there's actual accumulation. It'll probably keep up for the next several days, too.
The guy I was supposed to see Sunday called, asked if I could come today, so I did go over there.
Did not go see my mother to finish taxes, as I did not get the form I needed.
So I finished chapter 192.
Went to Sean's. Basically just finishing up the fight with the internet worm we started in… uh… December of 2014. Yeah. Had some yummy cake too.
Sun:
Watched batman movies Sean had leant me, as well as my normal Sunday shows.
The snow continued, when will it ever stop?
Cleaned up a bit, got an odd message from the taxmen, 'did you forget to send us your sales tax?' Uh, no, I did not. You cashed the check months ago, in fact.
Of course it's a Sunday and I can't call you about it. GURRRR.
Put a few new things on ebay and resisted the more expensive items at a lower price. Please, please sell.
Snow is really accumulating!
Mon:
Called the tax place, on my lunch break I might add given they are not even doing me the curtesy of being open during normal business hours, to hear an automated message paraphrased here: If you are calling about <issue you are calling about> please forgive our massive incompetence at making you think you needed to call about <issue you are calling out>.
So that was somewhat amusing.
Continued the copy reliability test, didn't find much more but copied a whole lot.
Back here I had no calls so I checked my Monday sites and watched the last movie Sean had given me.
Called about my 1095-B/A crap and I guess I don't need to do what they didn't tell me I needed to do last year? Make up your minds why don't you?
Just one call, a quick question, but I made a Tuesday appointment so I'll be heading there tomorrow after work.
Snowed a bunch more today, it is yucky out there at the moment and it seems it will remain so for at least this entire week. yay!
Started chapter 193 after figuring out how I want the vampire fight to end. It's going to be pretty extreme!
Tues:
Not much to talk about, pretty boring today. I got a gold star for being bug writer 3000 and we got a treat, so that was nice. After the meeting I went back to the reliability testing. Just running job after job. We're not getting a 5.0 build until sometime later this week, or perhaps early next. So what's the point?
After work I went and answered some questions for a lady about her iPhone, spreadsheets, and things in general.
Came home, only one call so I have an appointment for tomorrow.
Checked my sites, put in the latest changes to the first story I had proofed, and went back to 193.
Wed:
Last day of 4.0, I guess we're getting the newest build earlier than I understood. Seems fine to me. Doing another day of reliability was weighing me down. I found a few things though and wrote them up.
After work to see the lady with the machine that was shutting down. It actually was, but not in the way I thought. It was not powering down like a hardware issue, it was gracefully turning itself off like the usual shutdown button had been pressed. Weird. So that took longer because it wasn't just changing the power supply as I had thought.
I turned off shutting down with the power button and ran the usual scans. After the power button change it didn't happen any more, so hopefully that was the issue.
Came back here about 7:30, three calls, reached 2. So I have tomorrow and one for Saturday morning.
Did some stuff here around the house, ordered some gifts, and had less than an hour to go before bed. Wrote a bit, but not much.
Thurs:
The first day with 5.0. Mostly trying to get bugs verified as fixed. Wrote a few new ones of course, and took some screenshots for others. Didn't get to the meeting today because there wasn't one. She went to a local store instead. Tomorrow the plan is to run like a hundred scan to google jobs, as there's a bunch of intermittent problems surrounding that I need to somehow verify are fixed. Wish me luck.
My after work one I thought was just going to be a Mac. But then he wanted his piece of junk PC looked at too, which was booting to a BSOD. I looked up the minor information it gave "critical process died" or something, and found a post where someone had solved that by turning off some diagnostic service. So I turned it off and it immediately blue screened. "Yeah," I thought to myself, "that's the one." I rebooted and disabled it so it wouldn't run again, and then stopped it. It blue screened again. "I'm so awesome," I thought to myself with clenched teeth.
Hopefully that does it.
I love it though, this process that's Sooooooo important that the machine has to BSOD if I turn it off, but it runs just fine if I don't turn it on. So "critical." Yeah.
Got back here, had SIX stupid calls. Ordered a PC and a modem, for two different people. Talked some people through things, and made one appointment for saturday. A machine I sold for $50 nine months ago is blue screening. Yippie.
No news on Sean's saturday, so the plans for tomorrow are google testing, bank, shopping, parent's house.
Then Saturday is two nearby jobs in the morning and maybe the rest of the weekend off? Don't count on it, there's still tomorrow to get calls. Six calls, *grumble grumble.* Crap, I forgot about taxes! Well, maybe the BSOD lady won't take too long and I can get over to my parent's house and we can finish them. Sigh.
It's now after nine, so I have less than an hour before I have to go to bed. Not much writing done today either I guess.
See you all next week.
