Fri:
Pretty standard day, almost got through the google service, but didn't quite manage it.

Did the shopping as normal, came back here and worked on who I want to be hanging around in the next Susan world.

Yeah, it's Sunday as I type this, some details have been lost.

Sat:
I didn't come home after I left until quite late. Let me tell you why.

Left for my 9:00 to go set the stupid camera system up, and started plugging it into the TV because she said she wanted to watch it there. Having gotten it set up I looked to connect it to the wireless. No dice, it wasn't wireless.

So I had to move it over to where her computer was and get the online stuff done there. Their website is somewhat crappy. To activate the included DDNS I needed to fill out a form. The form had "warrantee" at the top but with no values filled into it. Seemingly, I could not proceed.

So I'm trying to do it by IP address just to verify it works, and of course I'm having trouble. Just give everything an IP v6 address already!

Stumbled into the other parts of the website, one of which was "warranty." Ah, I see, you have to create that part elsewhere on the site. But to do that you need to fill in you address, in yet a third part of the site. Really, you couldn't have had that all on one page?

Got that set, and finally got the address working so left with just enough time to get over to my parent's house on time.

My mother cut my hair and then began the arduous task of my taxes. Figuring the depreciation of the car was far too complex than it had to be, and remember a few months ago when they sent me my taxes back because they hadn't told me I needed to fill out a form with values from another form they were supposed to have provided me? Well, it happened.

And it happened again! I had the suspicion they hadn't gotten me the form, but I get so many now who can say. Well, I didn't have it, and once again I can't find it on the website.

Of course I can't call them to ask, because it's now too late on a Saturday. Thanks, gobment, you've done me proud. So I get to call and figure out how to get this form so I can put the values from the form onto another form, so they can go on a third form.

Government! Yeah! Feels good!

Got to Sean's a bit late by that point, and had a lovely battle with a tentacle monster blocking the train tracks. Sean got to use magic for the first time, and Other Sean tried some alchemy tricks.

Did a game of Red Dragon inn (was the first out as usual, sorta can't stand that game actually), watched some Get Smart, and I came home.

Sun:
Got my shows and a few things around the house done, then went over for Easter dinner.

After that we went to the zoo, something we did I believe easter two or three years ago. So that was pretty fun. I got to see the polar bear quite briefly, while the others didn't. Dad didn't see anything because he stayed home and tried not to cough too much. Feel better dad.

Then came back here, got ready for tomorrow, watched one of my shows, and went to bed.

Mon:
Fairly predictive today! Finished up the google service and got started on the admin roles. Just for fun I finished that up too and moved on to boot up. Takes less time when what you're testing doesn't change much. Not that there are that many tests cases for either of those services.

Oh, and I beat my hire buddy in to work today. That's never happened. I was quite surprised.

Meeting tomorrow, but I should be able to finish the service and have three days to see how else I can break google, I guess.

After work job was just setting up a router. Had to go to Staples and get one, as I forgot the last few days I needed it. Whoops. Still, got home by 5:30 because he was just off phillips road so it was down and back pretty quick.

Made a few calls, of course the camera system I put in is "down." The DDNS didn't update. Sigh.

No job for tomorrow though, of course I didn't reach one person.

Watched most of my shows, and now it's time for bed. Windy out, like really windy. Kind of nasty out today too, I thought it was supposed to be getting nicer?

Tues:
And it did get nicer. But not warmer nicer, just sunnier nicer.
Hopefully tomorrow will be both.

Finished up all my test cases today, though it was a rocky start actually. The prices weren't updating so I figured I would reregister the machine. Simple, right? No. The team that works on that had to send me a file special to make it work. That took… uh, all morning just about. We had the meeting, then I played with it some more and got it to work.

Figured out what sword I wanted Susan to use after hers gets broken this world. I thought she was going to ask Dean, from my Demongate High books, for a really freaking heavy one she could use. But then I thought about light sabers and her making something that could be variable OTR so she could use it non-lethal or lethal as needed. Sort of like the guns from Infinite Vector, if it ever gets finished. Hey, I was bored while my machine was busted, okay?

Got the software that's going to become 4.2. We have the rest of the week to test it, and we're doing a sort of reliability on it. So I finished just in time. Already wrote a bug against it, and opened another back up. Stupid.

Came back, had two hang up phone calls and called the person I didn't reach yesterday. They were around so I went over there. Not much to do, really. He said quicken was hanging up, so I updated it to the latest release and ran it nearly an hour. Mbam didn't find anything, but the machine was pretty filthy. So at least that's taken care of.

Came back, finished my shows from Sunday. Even had a little time left to make some changes to the last chapter I thought of. Fleshed out a few things, made a change to what happened I think will make things a little more interesting.

Wed:
Well. Didn't get very far into the reliability today for various reasons. New software had to be applied. New bugs had to be written up. Fax had to be made to work. (Finally figured out why it was having at least the one problem) The excel spreadsheet had to be reorganized so it made sense.

Oh yeah, and that training thing, that every employee has to go through, or they can't work there no more? Yeah, that one. That we should have been told I don't know like two weeks ago? We weren't. So we had to get that done today, as it was basically the last day to submit the fact we did it.

Unbelievable. Thanks for the heads up, boss.

Got though all that, and about, gee, 1/10 the reliability stuff? About that I think. Tomorrow should go smoother, as it's now organized properly and stuff.

Came back here, no calls, so I watched the flash movie Sean gave me and then checked my websites.

Thurs:
As expected, mostly just ran various jobs today. Got to about 60 of 200, so there's no way I'm getting even halfway done by tomorrow. Maybe half. I don't feel bad. Senpai admitted to not even starting, and my hire buddy was only at 38 I think he said. The one woman tester in the group has been sick, was only in a half day. Feel better soon! So once again I'm probably in the "lead."

Fax doesn't work too well. It'll get to the server, and sometimes even start the job. But then it errors out and gives a 0.00 total for the job. I emailed the person my (absent) supervisor suggested, but she said she knew nothing. Whoops.

So yeah, who even knows if that feature will work in the field or not? I certainly don't!

No jobs after work so I watched a batman animated movie and tried to work on the next chapter.
Got caught up turning a youtube video into a DVD for a lady, who hasn't called me back as promised as I said I would get it done tonight. You just can't trust people can you?

Hopefully now that I've talked to a bunch of my favorite people, Ellen included, I can get back to it.

Tomorrow, more of the same, just running jobs. Oh, I needed to print out 50 pages twice so I printed out (that small fraction of) the first Susan story for the final proofread in paper form. Read the first page, found a couple of mistakes. Sigh. Then shopping, no bank as there are not enough checks for that. Seeing my parents of course.

Saturday, no plans as last week I knew there was no Sean's house this week, and Sunday I have a short job that wasn't articulated very well. As usual. Something about turbo tax and files and browsers and who knows? Don't think I'll be getting the tax form I need by then, unless it comes tomorrow. Gurrrr, stupid tax form! So I probably won't go to my parent's house to get that finished this week.

Pretty warm today, but rainy. Don't worry, it'll get colder again.

So that's this week. I'm going back to writing, probably won't finish a chapter tonight as I'm not exactly sure how it'll go at the moment, but I'll give it a good try.
