2012-05-06:

I don't even have the excuse of writing. Oh, I'm up to almost 50,000 words, so I have been writing, just not at the breakneck pace I was. I solved the boat problem with a shrink spell, and wrote Clayton's adventure by himself, so now I just need to wrap it up with 35,000 or so more words.

So what's been going on otherwise?

Work has been okay, saw the last person in the world with AOL Dial Up, so that was a treat. Otherwise just more of the same.  Couple of new machines set up. Got My Buddy's keyboard installed and learned his USB ports are all fried. Doesn't look like he's moving any time soon, guess no one wants him. His floor was coated with magazine pages for some bizarre reason. Hate you Bruce!

Been looking into Blender a little. It's an open source 3d program which is pretty powerful. The last time I tried it the interface was a confusing mess, and it's still not exactly world class in that department. But I found a manual and ran through some tutorials, so it could be possible to work with. I was investigating it because there's a new 3D printer for $500, which is an unheard of cost, so I wondered if I could make custom cookie cutters or soap molds and actually make money from it. And of course have it to mess around with and make neat things with. Maybe someday.

Continuing to read my way through Xanth, I'm on book 32 or 33, not much more to go.

Turning warmer, I got the front lawn cut today. Shoot, I was going to take down the rest of my christmas lights, which I totally forgot. Oh well.

Game yesterday, Perfect Horizon, so once again I did absolutely nothing. The internet was down for awhile, and of course we started late, so… yeah. Mizzy's new character was introduced, some sort of experiment putting a human consciousness inside a big robot suit, so that should be interesting. At least the Blakes7, and he loaned me some Marvel animated movies, which I watched today. Got to see a big mouse they caught in the ceiling. What are those guys eating over there to get so big?

Game last week was Sprite World of all things! Weeeeeeee. So I put them through their paces and maybe they had a smidgen of a good time? Possibly? Right at the very end Sean played a Love Interest card on a totally random picture of a woman I threw in there, so of course she became a character, so I have some interesting ideas for her later. Muhahahah. At this pace, we'll have Sprite World totally tested and ready for release in…. 2018. :-) Just after Infinite Vector. :-(

Got one of my junk PCs reloaded totally and another on the way, probably finish that tomorrow, not much else going on I guess. Dad says business is slow for him too. Huh.

The Aged One is still kicking, complaining about everything, so no change there.

Some crazy, crazy lighting a few days back. Intense, one might almost say. Didn't lose power, I don't know how, there were strikes all over it seemed to me.

Got a $40 donation for my Copyright Inserter, the first in ages and ages, and spent a little time improving it since the guy asked. So that was a small piece of the last three days as well. I miss programming, but I'm having too much fun writing to go back. Plus there's the whole "You can't actually run the latest development tools" thing… curse you hackintosh! Still love you though.

Got a busted PS3, it wouldn't read disks, so I figured out how to open it and get the part cost, we'll see if the owner wants it repaired. For how complex the architecture is, the demo that was on the hard drive didn't look all that much better then 360 games.

Burned 40 copies of "The Cancer Report" for a guy, which nearly wiped out my blank DVD collection, finally. I've had those disks sitting around a long time.

Took Squeaker to the vet, he got his shot for the year, he seems to have a slight heart murmur.

Still two days on the repaired laptop on ebay, no bids at $129 so far.

Of course it's May now, meaning this year is almost half over. Hope you've all been living it to the fullest, you won't get it back.

Teacher Appreciation Week this week, so try and appreciate some of them, okay? You should never stop learning, so go out there and thank a teacher for all they do. Even the stupid ones that make you call them "Sir" when you're only in third grade, or that manipulate your grades to try and keep you in a catholic school system instead of getting you the help you need. I guess that was for money, or something? Most things are, you know. I remember weird things from my past. Like the whole hairbrush incident, don't think I've forgotten that. Or that window? Who could forget that, though, I mean, come on? Heather burning herself? Egg popsicle?

Anyway, guess I'm into rambling mode now, so I'm just going to end it here, and maybe pet this kitty that's on my lap now.

oh, oh, kitty! Saw the cutest little orange kitten this week- very interested in what I was doing, I kept trying to keep her away from the PC fans so she didn't get her little nose hurt.

Hope everything's going well for you.

Except you, Bruce. Sorry*, but that's just how it is.
