2012-02-21:
Got something funny in the mail, the "Summary Prospectus" for my mutual fund. Apparently, they invest in "stocks of seasoned companies… with proven records and above-average earnings growth potential." Is that why it hasn't made any money in the last couple of years? Oh wait, that would be "stagnation potential" wouldn't it. Yeah, I'm very impressed with my fund's "growth potential". You know, sometimes things have to go from being "potential" to "actual" you know, like when I had that job that one time? I went from being a "potential" employee to being an actual one.
Now what I would like to see is some "actual" money, rather then some "potential" money.
Speaking of money, I made none! But I am up to 12,434 words in book two, having finished chapter 4. So that's good, I guess.
One good thing, plenty of calls today. My Buddy Bruce plus five others, so I got three jobs for tomorrow, yea! I am also dropping off the CD I made.
Spent twenty minutes on the phone with a guy who couldn't find his D drive to install a piece of software from a disk he found. I explained, in great detail, where the "remote assistance" icon was on his screen, nope, not there. Uh huh. When I finally connected, oh look, there it is! How about that?
Spent an hour trying to find an easier way to get people to connect to me here at home, as clicking where I tell people and typing a number seems beyond mere mortals. There's a command line option I could use, which doesn't work. There's a procedure for building your own custom VNC product… from 2007. Why don't any of the (4) VNC programs I tried let you just save a document that when you double click on it, it connects to a machine? Is that so hard? Really? Of course I say the same thing about "the forth icon down, I gave it to everyone, it's there. On the right side of your screen. Under CCleaner, Malwarebytes, your antivirus? Right."
Oh well, work tomorrow in the afternoon, making that sweet, sweet gold backed dollars.
