2011-12-22:
Odd, why did they say it wouldn't be until tomorrow? Oh well.
Busy day today as expected, but all little stuff. Set up a new laptop first thing, moved his old stuff over, no problems. Then over to see Boris, who is still plugging away with his little book project, still think he's off his rocker. At 12:30 a bit of a setting up of a new router, and taking off the awful Trend Micro (using 150MB of RAM at one point) for Avast! instead. Over to give presents to Mom, sorry for cluttering up your house more. Enjoy your new game. Then delivered the battery, or tried to anyway, her UPS wouldn't even turn on now. Ugh. Then at 3:30 a checkup of a laptop that was running kind of bad, but I ran chkdsk on it and it seemed to be a little better.
And Amy took her system and left me the wrong copy of the invoice. I already know my address you know, you don't need to leave me that copy. Oh well.
Finished the Christmas cards, just have to assemble them and print them.
Put the parts together, and they seem to be all working. SSD are nice from what I've seen so far, mounting it was a bit of a problem, they're laptop drive sized I guess. Huh. Anyway, on my third install of 10.6. It goes great, I install the 10.6.8 upgrade, reboot again, but then it kinda conks out on me. I think I missed a step before so this time I'll be sure to not miss that step. Should be a sweet little system, it's very quiet and it'll run fast, oh yes.
Two for tomorrow, Mr "Oh, that's the earliest you can come" Bailey, at 11:30 and one at 9:30 as well. Honestly, you call me two days before Christmas and complain about a two hour delay because I can't see you immediately the next day? Be thankful I can see you at all, the number of jobs I've done this month.
Then back here, possibly more work on the hackintosh, depends how far I get in the next 50 minutes, then bringing a UPS to the battery lady, go to see the aged one, then to Sean's for board games, possibly gears?
I'll be out pretty late every night until Monday, so don't expect many updates until then.
