2011-10-18:
In the final moments (I mean seconds, as the battle didn't even go for more then 10 seconds) of the battle, Ewen, Rolalee and Carlita bravely stood against the horribly distorted form of Shao'Tikka. After having survived her second attack, the group struck simultaneously, finishing her once and for all, and putting an end to her plot to bring chaos back into our reality. So ends their adventures, and another year of school comes to a close. Ewen, now an angel and residing in heaven, Rosalee now powerless, Carlita fears she will never speak to her friends again. The only casualty? A single angel, the one assigned to watch over Rosalee, who bravely threw himself into harms way to fulfill his directive to keep her safe. Not bad, not bad at all.
And back to the "real" world, got some things accomplished. Replacing the LCD went well apart from cracking his bezel in the middle. That was some thin plastic, son! Oh well. Home to eat lunch/check websites. Then out at 12:30 to just do a general tune up. Not the most dirty machine I've seen, but it was pretty dirty. Then went to pick up my check, Mom's not feeling well. At least it happened now, not during the sale! So didn't stay long there. Gave Floyd his flash drive, then went over to the church. Oddly, it seems the power cord is also dead! Guess that's why it didn't power up even with it plugged in, where I thought it was just crappy design on Dell's part to need the battery. I loaned her the power supply for my loaner machine, which is also a dell but is somehow using an HP power adapter? Huh? The end is the same, but the machine complained it didn't know what it was, but at least it turned on again. I'll be ordering a replacement.
Back home, worked on the character designer a little while, then reached the guy from yesterday who said he was still not able to get Audacity downloaded over his crappy modem. Oh really? Then why after driving there ~15 minutes did I see Audacity open on your screen? Hummmmmmm? So that was a total waste, thanks a bunch Mr. Dial Up.
Back here. Ate dinner. Several calls today, I have a very packed day tomorrow, the hotel has a list of stuff, then someplace a half hour away, then back to Titus to see Boris, then someplace else. Wow. Haven't had that much work in one day in quite a while.
Then back to the Paragon thing, which I think I have finally figured out. The way LiveCode does certain things, like crashing, annoys me. Like I set it up, save it, make some changes. Don't like the changes, so I close it. Don't Save. Open back up again. WTF? Why are those changes I didn't save right there???? I figured out you have to close it again on a different window for it to be gone. Weird. And don't ask how the geometry of the 50 or so text fields I put in there got changed so they were going all over the place when I resized the window. That was my biggest problem, solving that finally led to it scrolling right. I think I know how I'm going to do the back page, but no idea how I'm going to change the background for the different games. The way it works is very odd, and not with what I want to do in mind at all. Perhaps I can exchange one image in the group for another. I'll have to keep looking into it.
