Oh, and some stuff. Right. Shopping right enough. They were out of my shampoo darn it. What is this, the soviet union? Circa 1980? Sorry, sort of a Bob the Angry Flower reference there. Anyway, got the machine I bought the hard drive for, he wanted the old one left (because he likes his machine as slow as possible I guess?) but just his documents moved to the new one. Uh, okay. That was a crappy machine, let me tell you. 1.6Ghz? iPads are twice that fast. But I did it. Of course it BSOD the first time, gotta love an OS that can't move a folder from one hard drive to another without kernel panicking like a spoiled child. But it finally did the simple task I asked of it and I left to set up the printer. Her main complaint was that it wasn't copying, and I suggested perhaps the scanner lamp had burned out. Turns out this was not the case. She gave it to me and I brought it home and tried it. Seemed like the document feeder was just pulling and pulling something in and wouldn't stop, and then complained of a jam. So I popped the little cover off the document feeder and found to my surprise a small piece of black cloth shoved in there. Huh. I called her and asked if she wanted it back and to return the new one, but she said I could keep it.

 

PROTIP: call a professional before you spend money on equipment… and a professional.

 

Now that I think about it, I didn't follow that advice with my fridge. Huh. Well, I'm a lot cheaper then he would have been, let me tell you.

So now I have a perfectly good HP network inkject. Anyone want one? I'll give you a great price! :-)

 

Then over to deliver the crappy system. Got it all hooked up and answered his questions.

 

Then home to cut the grass, dinner, and some phone calls. Lou called again, so I called him back. He answered the phone and said " ". I kept saying his name and Hello? Then he started saying nonsense, and then silence for maybe ten seconds, and I was like "I can hear you talking, Lou." then he hung up. Huh. Old people. Got to love them!

 

So I have three for tomorrow, a cleanout, setting up an iPad and seeing if I can save Bob's machine after trying to use one of those horrible "oneclick" drives killed his machine. I tried formatting one of those freaking things once you know, so it could be used with time machine on a Mac. Hate those pieces of crap drives. Hate them. Might stop over to see Lou, see if he's gone insane or whatnot.

 

No challenges tonight, they are all multiplayer, so Sean can entertain his guests long into the night instead.

 

Worked on my fancy little excel chart to work out difficulties and hours spent making stuff in Demongate and the fantasy game. It's more confusing then you might think. First you have to spend this time at this difficulty learning it. But a teacher can half that time. Or you can spend more or less time to change that difficulty. Then there's the actual creation difficulty, which can be overcome with energy, or more time spent, or less time spent if you're good at the skill. Then with magic you can make the effect permanent, which costs one thing, or just roll the dice and see what you get, which costs another, or put it into food which costs 1/4 of that.  I finally got it right but it took some doing.
