So, Friday, was it? Yes. Got over to York to give them the stuff I got for them. I noticed one machine wasn't believing it was plugged in even with the new equipment, which puzzled me slightly. I went around and figured out what wall jack went to which numbered port on their little pluggy thing, but no matter what I did, I couldn't get a light to light for that one. So I plugged in my handy, dandy little tester and the lights were very angry with me. So something happened to the cable in the wall, apparently. How fortunate then that in that very room was a small switch, ready and waiting to do my bidding. So I unraveled the absurdly long ethernet cable that had been used and strung it over there. Problem solved.
Stopped off at Lou's, but he wasn't there, so I left again, rejected.
Went to mom's to get the modems from the "garage" and then boxed off 141 pounds of circuit boards to the recycling company. Also dropped off the hard drive to go back. Hopefully almost $300 will soon be on its way to me?
Changed my clothes, went over to Grandma's to paint that one gutter, and that didn't take me too long. Then I went to see her, food is still terrible, good to know.
I stopped at a garage sale and found a movie so I thought I would watch that in the evening, imagine my surprise when Sean said his in law's flight was delayed until the next day, did we want to continue Demongate High. We did, so we did. Got a few answers, but more trouble is coming.
Saturday I did stuff around here, straightening and vacuuming and such. How can a cat lose that much hair and still exist? It's not like I don't vacuum for months or anything. Sheesh. Should have mowed the lawn but the traditional day is Sunday, and of course it rained basically all day. Whoops. Cleaned bluetooth mouse, his cage smelled for some reason. I think some of his food got wet and nasty. I did see him running in his wheel, glad he's not such a scardy mouse as Laser. Got a couple of Reach challenges that were really easy. Remade my Sam character to be an Artificer rather then a Spirit Hunter. See, the trouble is Spirit Hunters have to know a bunch of things to be really effective. First they have to learn sword. Then they have to learn their second weapon form. Then their third weapon form could be totally different. I skipped the sword by taking persistent advanced weapon, but still, I would have to learn roping, then the energy transfer skill, then how to call out my weapon's final form, then pistol, then rifle. My thought experiment making him a forth year character showed he wouldn't even have gotten around to becoming a spirit hunter because of all the other stuff I wanted him to do. I might still change my mind, of course, he seems like he would be fun to play, but maybe in a game that spanned eight years rather then five. So I started another background story about Dean and how he learned he had powers after remaking the character to fit the new backgrounds. I finished it up today, and just the background card has given him a much more bleak 14 years then Sam. You can
read all about it here. I also broke the spirit hunter part of Sam out into a separate character, in case he was needed for something. I'd almost play him like that, but I don't want to play another straight spirit hunter, they've been tested to death now.
Watched the gayest episode of Torchwood yet. Nothing actually happened, it was all "this happened a hundred years ago" and "driving!" Sigh. Finished another book mom gave me and started Remnant Population. Amazing that you can write 80% of a book about one character, living alone, no dialog, no conflict. It's still pretty interesting.
No calls today, but a couple over the last three days, so I have two tomorrow, one dropped off here and a printer setup. Then two Tuesday as well, so hopefully that will continue.
Not going to get above 80 this week? Methinks summer will come to a swift conclusion, no? *sadface*
