She called me today that I had "taken off" her frontier thing and she had spent "two hours" on the phone with frontier to get it back. Because she is a moron. I went there, specifically to do that action. I explained what she had previously done. She consciously chose to go with the other one. And suddenly I'm to blame? Okay lady.
Got an email my e-scrap had been processed (that was fast) and a check had been sent. They are leaving me in suspense, I guess, they did not say how much for.
Tuesday I did two as well, the first a place I had just been, her machine has been beeping on and off apparently, and she thought the beep code was the processor, and I happened to have the exact one currently in the machine, so I replaced it for her and that was that. Then much later I set up a guy's laptops to talk to the printer over the network. Fun stuff.
On the way home I noticed my "check engine light" was on. Super. I stopped and adjusted the gas cap, but no change. Sigh.
Done today and it stayed on over to Victor. A power outage fried his machine, apparently. I tried to change the power supply, but it had this really weird plug going into the motherboard I had never seen before, so maybe it was a custom job? Anyway, earlier that morning I reloaded a dell 2400 I've had sitting in my living room for like three months, so I sold him that one. I wanted to use it as a replacement for my "old reliable" that's run my phone system continuously for like 6 years, but the software just kept saying bizarre stuff like I didn't have enough space on the HD or it didn't boot right. Well, XP was happy so I was happy, and now he's happy because he got a cheap system years newer then his was, and I got paid.
Stopped at Grandma's on the way home, sanded off the gutter so I can paint it. Man, that was flakey, I looked around for some safety goggles but only found a mask, which I wore. I sprayed it down with the hose so it's all nice and clean for me.
Called the car place, they can see me… next friday, the 26th. But he said it was fine to keep driving with it like that. "Until it starts to flash and catch on fire, right?" I asked him. He agreed.
In the quiet spaces I've been tweaking Sam's Story, which is now posted here as I promised you. You should maybe read it? I don't know. Also went over things he can make, what skills he wants to learn, all for a game Sean says may start sometime a year from now. Sigh. We always want things right now though, don't we?
Finished The Assassin King, Proven Guilty (which I thought was excellent), and The Black Unicorn. It seemed familiar to me, maybe I read it once before?
Just one call tonight, but I did get the monitor I ordered for Bert, so I can take that over to him tomorrow. Stripped the busted Pentium 3 down for the motherboard and parts, yes he was still using a PIII. *rolls eyes*. His hard drive I just replaced not that long ago, too, it's still under warranty. So I guess some good will come.
Tomorrow between 11:00-3:00 the recycle guys will come for my fridge. Hope it's sooner rather then later. I do already have one job after that.
It's a year ago today Grandma went to the Friendly Home. So I've visited her at least 52 times. Amazed I'm still visiting her, truthfully.
Finally got notification the replacement backup drive for york shipped, so hopefully I can get over there soon, too.
No challenges tonight, well, maybe the weekly one. There's one for 3000 I can do, link your account (which I already did) and play one game of matchmaking. That's an easy 3000.
Water in grandma's basement was pretty bad, guess we'll need professionals for that one.
No game this week, as I said before, but the 27th we'll be back to our friendly black unicorn, who is not moving a yard from the castle until she finishes her imbued ring of speed. So there.
