I was just hugging my new best ever unicorn friend I got for a whole dollar at the church sale just up the road from me. Like this:

My inner ten year old was saying "I want it, I want it!" as soon as I saw the stuffed animal table, and how can I resist? Definitely the largest of the collection, to be sure. I like that sale. I also got most of a spindle of blank CDs for three bucks, a huge britta water dispenser with a nozzle, so I can just press a button and have cool, clean water dump out, presumably into a glass of some sort, and a very nice… I can't tell you. It's a gift for someone, so you'll just have to wait 6 months. Sucks to be you! I have no idea where this person is going to PUT this cool thing I found… maybe they should buy a second house.
Anyway, work went…
The first one was fine, driving all the way out there. Plugging it in, installing the driver, to have it tell me, oh, it's not installed correctly. Updating from the website. Then it was fine. Etc.
So I arrived about 20 minutes early to #2 and waited until about 1:05 until calling them. "Oh, I called you earlier." Yeah, at 11:30 abouts. Not too helpful. So I started that one a half hour late. Just a fake antivirus again, nothing big. Checked my messages, as I figured, eh, and saw my next one called me too. So I went home, it wasn't until 3:30 and it was 2:30 at the earliest at that point, and she had canceled outright. AARg! So I saw what else I had on the plate, and there was Vince who I guess had some power problems last night, didn't even know that, even though it's just down Klem road, and basically in my neighborhood. Huh. Anyway, burned his power supply out and some phones. Of course, it's a sony machine with a very non-standard power supply, so I rigged one up so he at least could use the machine, and checked ebay for a replacement. $50. A new one I sell people is $45. He's going to check some recycling place or whatever, and get back to me.
Then home. Worked on a PC dropped off yesterday, no love there. It would boot just fine, and then get sorta tired. Did I mention that yesterday? Anyway, I just reloaded the sucker. Stupid Vista.
Oh, and I recalled that on the laptop, it won't auto pass the "activation" so I had to spend five minutes on the phone with the microsoft robot typing in the 45 digit code and getting another 45 digit code back to make sure I was "legal". Twice. I HATE YOU mICROSOFT. Like me tying digits on a phone pad is sooooo much more "I'm not a software pirate honest" then my machine talking to a microsoft server someplace and giving it the same number and getting the same number I am read by the robot voice back instantly. Yeah.
Made cheesecake, hope it's oh so good! Game tomorrow, we'll see what Neil's "trial" is all about.
Sean says I can borrow his InDesign 3 he's not using, (5.5 is the latest version) which I think will be a hassle because he'll have to reload it so he can "deactivate" it. YOU'RE NOT SO GREAT EITHER ADOBE! At least then I can make a proper book. Using Scribus would have been nice, but it just isn't there yet, I guess. For what I want to do, anyway.
Only one for tomorrow. Huh. Cleanout.
Why does Master Chief suddenly have a jetpack? He didn't go into cold storage with that thing on his back. Oh sorry, got distracted there.
Grandma tomorrow, as usual for Friday. Wonder if the food will still have "a sauce" on it, be terrible, and the aids are all different and there's less help then there was? Probably. I don't know how you can put a sauce on a soup and sandwich, or breakfast, so I guess "everything" doesn't have "a sauce" on it.
Have a good weekend everyone.
