2011-04-28:
No, I mean really, really windy out. I decided to finally fix my leaf barrier that had pretty much blown half off today, and of course I picked the absolute windiest day possible. But it's back up and stable. I guess it's a good test, if it survives this, it should last quite a while.
Nothing much happened last night, just me not writing. Not many jobs to write about. Worked on the laptop that got dropped off, it was still running a Norton from 2006 which I guess they still support? Like a piece of software from 2006 will be any help against modern viruses. Does it even know what a rootkit is? Anyway, the auto update broke like a year ago, so I just took it off. I would have spoken to the person about it, but I got it from the father so I don't have any direct contact. The biggest problem is the "wireless network unavailable" and stuff that make the wireless not work. Oh, it's there, it's recognized by the device manager, so it must be some registry problem. As usual. I tried to boot into Ubuntu to prove it one way or the other, but wouldn't you know it, it wouldn't. Ancient PC hardware, how I love you. Almost as much as I like shiny NEW PC hardware. It is a pretty old machine, 1.5Ghz. HA.
Then over to the hotel, haven't been over there in awhile. Apparently the power supply fan had failed and the machine was overheating. Some idiot then decided to use the restore disks, as it must be a software problem, right? UH NO. So then they call me, nice job guys, next time you want to "save" money by not calling the expert, I hope it's about plumbing or ghosts running amuck.
I ain't scared of no ghost!
Sorry. So of course I sold my power supply a few days ago and the replacement has yet to arrive, so I had to rig up an older one until it comes in. Of course, on a hunch I checked the machine right next to it that's the same model, and yes, that fan was dead as well. So then I went upstairs and checked some other machines, and yup, there was yet another dead. So exactly half the machines, all IBM desktops, have dead power supply fans? Now that's engineering. So she said just replace them all, so I ordered $240 worth of power supplies! That's the trouble with ordering from one vender, they use the same parts so they're probably all going to fail around the same time. HAHA. So I left the front desk one open and on its side so hopefully that one doesn't die before the replacements come in.
Played more FF12, don't worry I cheated my way up to level 99 right at the start, not going to level grind like a chump.
Just the one appointment today at 5:00. I'll go at 4:30 and buy cake making stuff for Mizzy's birthday. (It's down in that direction anyway) Neil is coming in, so I'll be over there saturday too, I guess we're doing a board game night. Which is more fun then a stick in the eye, let me tell you.
Got my FM transmitter, works well in the garage, anyway. Haven't had a chance to test it in the field. There are a lot of radio stations! I kept looking for a clear frequency, and it was like, station, station, station, station, COME ON! Of course the opposite person from me would pick a popular station and try to drown it out with his crappy music, but me, I picked a free frequency. So unless someone in the car next to me likes listening to static, they probably won't pick up my signal.

Don't worry John, I don't know how to respond to half the dumb things people say to me, either. Just make something up, or mumble, that always works.

Now that you're wearing short sleeves and showing off those beautiful legs of yours, don't forget the sunscreen.
What I should do now is some programming, or work on that Dragon Warrior story. But will I, that's the question.
