Here I was thinking spring actually started about a month ago. I must be wrong, however, as it was snowing today. And it looks like it'll snow tomorrow, and the next day. So it can't be. 

 

A good weekend all round, as mostly it involved me not needing to do more then enjoy tens of thousands of still images shown at 29.95 frames per second accompanied by sound. But all in good time.

 

Friday was pretty busy. Set up a new machine first off. Then a cleanout that I don't recall giving me any trouble. Then to a guy who somehow gave himself four "identities" in Entourage, the old Microsoft email program for the Mac, and I answered some more questions and took his old G3 hard drive apart and got two lovely magnets in the deal. Saw grandma, and went over to Sean's. Mizzy made dinner again, thanks Mizzy! And I even had some frozen sugar milk. I wanted to bring a desert, but Sean said "yeah, come at five" and I didn't realize until after I left Grandma that, oh right, five, duh? So I just went there directly, but I could have. So perhaps more planning next week? Humm? Game went fine, we took care of some drug dealing demons as of course we should. It did make me realize, however, that perhaps the scoring is being done backwards.

 

Imagine if you will, two boxers step into the ring. Boxer A unleashes a flurry of blows, driving his opponent back. Boxer B awaits his opening, and delivers a single blow, knocking his opponent to the mat and ending the fight. Which is the better boxer? The one that used the least amount of effort to achieve the goal, right? So hopefully the team with the lowest score will be the one to advance because that shows they needed the least power to achieve their aim. Right? Right?

 

Saturday I did one job, York Furniture, don't know what their actual problem was. Machine was kind of hung up, so I rebooted, little did I know it would hang right at the first screen. Well, I was going to take the machine apart, so I unplugged the external HD so I could tip it, and I looked over at the screen and it had advanced into the boot sequence. Odd. Well it wouldn't recognize the external, but after plugging it into Macbook Mini it started working again, so I plugged it back in where it was and everything was fine. Whatever.

 

Then spent the rest of the day watching Psyche season 2. Enjoyable, but somehow I think I liked the first season a little bit better. I also played FF8 while watching it, because I figure, why not? 

 

Today I cleaned, cursed out the snow, and went back to playing FF8. Twice now I've gotten to this same boss (I forgot to save the first time, putting me a bit behind the first time he finished me off) and each time he kills me with the freaking cheap shot. He's got an attack that reduces me to 1hp, and then his stupid shoulder laser finishes me off. It's very annoying. I spent some time "gathering" magic from items to up my HP and make myself immune to the "death" spell I so fear, and confusion that just drives me nuts. But this guy... I'm going to have to be more careful, and cast more cure spells I guess. I can't become immune to his cheap shot attack, that I know of. I'm so close to winning it too. Stupid FF8. Stupid story that makes no sense.

 

Stupid everything.

 

Got a fistful of calls over the weekend, so tomorrow is all booked up, and I have two or three scattered about for the week. 

 

Found out Squeaker somehow got out sometime Friday. When I came home that night and put food in his bowl he didn't come running. Well, it was about 1:00am and he doesn't always come see me, so I just went to bed. When I got up the food was undisturbed, so I became suspicious. I called him, but no kitty. I went out to the garage and called him, and heard a week "maaawww" and thought he was stuck in the ceiling or something. But then he comes out of the air conditioner cover on the deck, all wet and cold (it was raining) and I was like, how did you get out THERE? So he had a bit of an adventure, but came home safe and sound, thankfully.

 

Also finished Warbreaker tonight. It was good, but it seemed rushed at the end. Like it should maybe have been two books? He had a lot of characters, and sub plots and suddenly, WHAM let's get this thing over! I'll start reading the pile of stuff Sean gave me now, then back into the "Heather box" for the next one.
