"a sound, syllable, word, or group of words that are considered capable of "creating transformation"
Here, we see an example of the mantra as seen in a contemporary setting.
[[image:nothingiswrong.png:Positive thinking, that's the key:center:0]]
Here, John uses the Mantra "nothing is wrong" to create change in his life, driving out that which he does not desire through the use of belief and positive cogitation.
Or is the comic more literal? Can "nothing" be "wrong"? Perhaps John is commenting on his bare walls, to say that to have "nothing" is wrong. But nothing implies an absence, like space. Can space be "wrong"? Or does it simply exist, indifferent to our attempts at labeling it "right" or "wrong". However, to imply that "nothing" is "wrong" inversely implies that "something" is "right", a wildly inaccurate statement, at best. To do "something" without regard to the consequences is equally "wrong", perhaps more so then doing nothing. If a man is drowning in front of me, but indeed I do not know how to swim, the "something" of jumping in with him would be more "wrong" then doing "nothing", that is, letting him drown so that I stay safe.
More careful consideration of this issue may be warranted.
Of course, John then finds his "nothing" in the end, speaking to it as though the absence of something is undesirable, given the implied tone of the dialog. Remember, the mantra is, itself, not enough, John, one must also take affirmative action in one's life to produce the desired result! What a lesson for us all in such a simple medium.
Indeed, I personally snuck into eighteen houses and broke their computers in the hope that they would call a computer repair person, thereby increasing my chances of gaining meaningful employment.* It seems to have worked, I had five calls today.
But let us speak of today. The inspection went well, it seems my oil filter was not appropriately affixed and was leaking, leading to a most grievous (if left unchecked) engine malfunction. But with the problem arrested, normal functioning can be maintained.
I then went out to install RAM, which didn't work. More specifically, the chips were not recognized as being installed at all, causing much head scratching on the part of the installer, i.e. me.
Leaving this most "heinous" "scene" I hastened to York to do the Good Works, which I managed with my usual sense of style and modesty.
I dropped off the 10.4 disk to the guy I loaded 10.3 on before, I guess he did have 10.4 before, whatever.
Then home, dinner.
I am finishing up this entry early as we, that is the group of Mizzy, Sean, Neil, will probably play Lost Planet 2 tonight. Or sometime in August, or .8888888889 whatever that means. Hard to be sure. (inside joke, hahaha)
I now go to make my phone calls, thankful an the one hand to have work, but again astonished that money is not raining out of the sky upon me as is my due. Needs must I toil for another day, methinks.
7:00 and still light enough to see by. Astonishing. Now if we could get some freaking SUN we'd be all set.
See everyone tomorrow!
