But I take solace in the fact that a parallel me did not have my problems. Go theoretical, parallel me! You rock!
So, yeah. First there was snow. So the day starts off like crap, right? That's a given. So I drive to the bank and realize, somehow, that even though my wallet was right there by my shoes, I neglected to pick it up. So then I get to drive all the way back home. I pick up my wallet, I drive back to the bank. I put my card in, it asks "amount to deposit" like I should know that sort of thing. But sadly, after adding it up this morning, I did not write it on the envelope. Because I'm stupid, I guess? So I have no idea, and cancel the transaction. My card pops out and I madly tear the envelope open to re-add the figures. My card gets sucked back in. Whoops. So I go in, of course, they have no way of opening said machine to get my card out. That would be too easy. Soonest I can get it back is Wednesday. Which is fine, I have enough cash to buy what I need, expect Heather's present to finish my christmas shopping. So that will have to wait.
Spun through joann's to get paint, staples to get forms, library to get books, on full burn, and get home with just enough time to have a bowl of yummy soup and leave again.
Heard a very cool christmas song on the radio, which you should hear now!
So the rest of the day went fine. Dismantled an old Win98 system that had a pretty good set of speakers she sold me for doing the work. (which was also a clean out of her laptop)
Oh, here's something dumb. Both Facebook and hotmail keep your account information around "in case you want to come back." Trouble is, she had both of these things hacked and didn't want ever to come back to them. So, I guess they could just be reactivated again? That's super helpful guys, thanks. Here's the thing, if I say "close the account" I expect, immediately, for all information pertaining to me to be destroyed. No question. Guess that's just my parallel world where things work that way.
Made a half hour wage as my next one somehow turned .lnk files (windows shortcuts) into files opening with Windows Picture Viewer, so she couldn't open any programs from her desktop. Sweet. And you allowed this, windows?
Stopped by mom's to get a system. My father called me about it, asking me if I had a power cord for it, I was like, I've got a whole stack of power cords, I could choke to death my entire neighborhood with the number of cords I have. (Not that I would ever do so, that would be terribly inefficient. Destroying cites? That's what I keep Ifirta around for!) He was like, "oh, okay, great." And that was the end of it. I hung up the phone quite confused, let me tell you! My mother later called to clarify, thank you. Apparently she wants it know if it can be improved. Well, given it's a very early celeron chip with a 40GB HD, no. And why does it only report 32 GB? *shakes head*
Then an actual hour of work running a variety of scans, which actually worked. Impressive!
Then back home. Realized my kitchen was really in need of some further cleaning, so I did. Hooked up my speakers, ate dinner, took delivery of mom's last present (thanks, cute UPS girl, sorry you have to work so late now!) made some calls, you know, the usual. Just one so far for tomorrow, and she's coming here. Luckily, I have plenty of time to do the driveway before she gets here.
