2010-12-05:
Was it you? I see that look. It was, wasn't it?
So many inches! I'll have to plow the driveway or something tomorrow. Winter doesn't even START for sixteen days! I wanted a white Christmas, not a white the whole month of December. Etc. Etc.
That rant goes on another half hour, so we'll just cut it there.
So what do I remember about the weekend? Humm... four jobs Friday. Actually, what about thursday? I did get ice cream guy finally up and working, didn't think the frontier DSL equipment had dydns.org support, but it did, thank you very much.
Friday: Got the system back in the morning, no problem. Then some crazy registry error I guess, I looked up the error on MacBook Mini and found a guide, which actually worked. Then a total reload of a Win7 system, thanks for providing a CD so I could do a repair. Oh, right, you didn't. Then Dr. Jay's printer had somehow taken the address of his router, thus he couldn't talk to the internet half the time. Weird. Saw grandma, she wasn't doing too well, in the waste disposal area, so I said I would come back the next day.
Saturday, saw Dan, a person I knew in high school. He's grown this big 'ol Santa beard, which makes him look almost respectable. Almost. Maybe I should grow a big 'ol Santa beard. Nah. Saw grandma again, she was doing better. And by "better" I mean, better then the day before but still dying by inches. And walked the pup.
Baked the statue, and it didn't fall apart or nothing! Remade the base because the clay one was just unusable. Tried to just cover it with the new stuff like a delicious candy shell, but it was too flakey. Finished Halo 1, woohoo. Now if we could just get Reach started. *rolls eyes* Sean! Went over there, for all the "busy" he's been, I didn't see much had actually changed since I was there last. No projector (this explains why no Reach), his office was still just boxes and scattered stuff, and Mizzy said "no white board in the dining room" so we carried that downstairs and he's going to have the combo game room/theater there I guess. The original plan was to use the dining room for gaming, but when your wife buys you a house and says she wants a nice dining room, you give it to her! When I arrived he wanted to take me to Cold Stone (because ice cream is the exact thing I desire when it's below freezing, you betcha) but the one we went to was closed. So we ended up going to another one, and stopped to pick up some stuff from the old house. But we did finally get to my game, which I guess went okay. They did finally find White Mage, so Fighter is off their backs. Now Koopter gets to give Silvercloud the orientation he never had coming out of his game, and find him a place in society. They're thinking of opening a private detective agency of all things! One of the NPCs I had following them around was Jelly, a character modeled after A Boy and His Blob, from the game "Jelly and Jenny" (in this universe). He mentioned he was going back to search for Jenny and being the good natured buddy Koopter is, he agreed to help look for them! So now I have to come up with an adventure as to why they're apart (sorted) and what they're going to do about it (no clue). But that could be fun. Then the real fun can begin as both of them meet their enemies and almost get killed over and over! Buhahahahahahah. Hey, they took the backgrounds, they get the foe.
Painted today. The figure itself is done, two coats of blue and yellow, and the hands and shoes are done. I need black for the base and to mix with white to make a grey for the microphone. And black for the microphone top. Also I want the podium to be a little bit darker so I want to put another coat on that, mix of brown with a little black. Then I just need a spring and it's all set. It looks pretty nice. Gluing the podium to the base is the challenge, if it's not at an angle, the microphone will be under the head, instead of in front of it, because he's leaning a little to far. I'm thinking a lot of hot glue...
Laundry, more Fallout New Vegas, a little cleaning. Ordered grandma's gift, found something for Neil too. Still have a few christmas-y activities to complete, but I'm not worried.
Full day tomorrow, three appointments, plus one for tuesday. Shopping, library, Sean gave me five Farscape comics (weird stories) and I'll soon have them all read (I've done three) so I'll get something else out.
Oh, and I put a cardboard barrier around the top of Laser's cage to help discourage a claw going *twang* *twang* trying to get into his home. Seems to be working so far.
I guess there's only one more tip to leave you with this week, before I sign off.
