2010-11-14:
Today was like a smorgasbord of accomplishment, where will it all end? Today's activities included:
Finally fixing the plastic that had been torn off by wind months ago. (I would like to remove it, but there seems to be no activity on the "neighbors raking the leaves" front, again, so, no.
Putting up my christmas lights. (it was quite pleasant out, I just finished and flipped the switch to turn them on when the rain started)
Walking the dog at 12:00.
Working on the paragon character database because I just learned Firefox can't handle plain old text. It's true, for some reason it doesn't respect the window boarders, it just makes a horizontal scroller go half a mile off to the right. What? I've given the iframe a very clear boarder in CSS Firefox, why are you not respecting it? Well, fine, I'll give you HTML because I'm nice like that. Wasn't too hard, actually, good thing I planned ahead when I made the thing the first time.
Set up my old powerbook (the one that I got that little CF adapter for so it now has no HD) next to the couch, so I can look stuff up (like video game stuff) without leaving my seat! Also runs a photo screensaver, not unlike the formally used one I purchased for Grandma a couple of christmases ago. Christmases. That's a weird word. Anyway, think Grandma would appreciate this one again Mom? (or more accurately, now, as it was not appreciated the first time around, guru) Anyway, it can stay on all the time, it's 100% silent and as a laptop hardly uses any power. I love finding uses for old equipment, I really do.
Laundry and dishes: washed.
Glued a lamp back together I found knocked over, thank you squeaker. There's a huge chunk of it missing though, the heck? Where did it GO? I had some fragments too small to glue, but they would not add up to the hole that's left. Weird.
Looked through all the one thousand catalogs I received last week and actually found a few gift ideas! Huh. So let's see, dad's done, mom's birthday, done, mom xmas, almost done?
Did one job Saturday, explaining, for the third time, the use of the TAB key moving between fields on the little receipt generator I made for him in Appleworks.
Game went really, really well. I defended myself against the sprit hunters, much Role was Played, much XP was gained. And it'll be the last week we have to do it long distance! Yay! The long exile is nearly over.
Friday, two jobs done, one I have to go back to with a PCI video card that has HDMI (I actually found one, $80) and an HDMI switchbox. The other was craig, just hooking up a wireless printer.
All in all, a pretty good weekend. Just a few calls though. Oh well.
Wow, Sean back next week, then the week after that is Thanksgiving, then the week after that starts December! Crazy!
