2010-05-12:
There was an aluminum can a little ways down the street a few days ago, so I went down to get it. While walking I saw this guy on the corner doing something to his lawn. As I got closer, I saw all these dandelions that had been torn out of the ground, and realized that was what he was doing. I had to wonder at this activity, is getting some pretty yellow flowers out of your yard really that important you have to spend precious hours of life doing it? I mean, good luck, but no matter how many you get, you still need to get about a hundred more, today or the next. It's not that important. (writes the man in his blog *irony*)
No entry last night because I was playing the beta, then Sean and Abel showed up, but Sean didn't have the beta downloaded yet, so they helped me get the Vidmaster Challenge: Déjà Vu achievement. Not as hard as I thought!
Just standard type jobs lately, cleanouts, a new setup or two. Today I finally got (I hope) a couple away from Win2k, because they can't use the latest version of quicken. Whatever.
Started a new papercraft, but I think it's going to defeat me. The directions are kind of crap, and it's very complex, so my choices are to finish the body first and hope sometime I can get the head done, as it's the head that's the major problem. Or just start a different one I want to do and see if I improve at all, then go back to that one. There's pictures of it, so at least the creator got it together, otherwise I would have said it was impossible. It just seems like it could have been done better. But what do I know about making those things? And by making I don't mean assembling, I mean making from scratch. Still, I'm starting way early (for the very reason I expected difficulties) so it's no big deal if I have to find a different, easier, one to do.
Full day tomorrow too, work is pretty steady.
Sean's Saturday.
Worked on the new site a bit more. Turns out I actually have the smoonstore and silverstreaksoftware sites paid for another year! Whoops. I thought they were both up this year. But it's just the names expiring this year. So, do I just set up the new site, redirect everyone to it for a year through the old site, and then let the old site just vanish? Call powweb and see if they'll give me a refund of one year on the one site, and apply the other year to the new site? Or maybe set it up for two years with the new site and try redirecting the sites with DNS?
