My most favorite part is driving home from Sean's in the snow.

 

Anyway, why aren't you playing the Halo Reach beta? Oh, you already did? Good answer.

 

Work wise has been fine, and I got 10 calls over the weekend. Strange that I didn't reach half of them. Here's the highlights: (Sat)2 machines cleaned out. One machine I had to turn off AOL and HP startup items before it would go faster the a turtle's pace. Odd. Also loading up a laptop with a new hard drive. 

 

(Fri) A wonderful 400Mhz celeron cleaned out. Last antivirus update? 1999. Yeah, that's safe. *shakes head* Cell phones are faster then that. Answered a call before grandmas and went over to install 10.4 for a lady. Bought a program that the website said would work with 10.3, but... didn't. The box was correct.

 

(thurs) Answered questions, tried to load a spanish technical dictionary from 1998 onto a windows 7 machine. *gasp* it didn't actually work. Complained the installer "something something 64 or 32 bit" like the general user is going to know the difference. Both CD drives died in one machine, so I replaced one of them. Kept thinking it was a windows thing, but I hooked them both up to my laptop with my little USB adapter and hey, they didn't work. Huh. And another cleanout.

 

In more personal news, give grandma her card and home baked cookies friday, which I think when I make them again I'll use a whole cup of peanut butter and the entire amount of flour. The peanut butter was the recipe amount, but it said "x cups flour plus 2 tablespoons". Now, usually in a recipe that says that you add the extra later, so I just kept following the instructions and after they were all laid out on the cookie sheet there were less then there should have been. So I read it over and realized I forgot 4 whole tablespoons of flour. I figured that would just make them a bit denser, so I just baked them. They came out, but not as tasty as the recipe implied they would be. Stayed for dinner, she sent me down to wegmans, which is of course a madhouse. I was walking around the fresh food stuff and saw the asian section. Sesame chicken lo mein. That was goooood stuff. Of course grandma looked at it like I just handed her a severed head to eat. She was like, "what's this?" poking at the chicken. I said "It's the chicken. It's Sesame Chicken." She knew it was chicken. She READ the label and said, "oh, chicken!" I figure if I'm getting roped into eating there, I'm bringing Asian stuff back cause I like Asian cooking, and if she doesn't like it, she can stop asking me to stay. I won't try sushi on her, that would be going a bit too far. Also her microwave should be shot for dereliction of duty. That thing sucks. Or rather to say it does not output a significant volume of microwave energy. Which is the point, I think, of a microwave.

 

Of course today was Mother's Day so I went over to Mom's with yummy brownie/ice cream dessert, and her present of more Animal Crossing papercraft (with joke). 

 

Playing loads of the Beta, I'm really liking it. I hate that they changed the controls, YET AGAIN. From Halo 2->3 was a great change. It was perfect. Then for ODST it changed, now for Reach it's going to change again. STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID

 

Fantasy game with Other Sean and Stan Saturday. I got the subs for everyone. We got through the adventure, and now have an army of robots to do our bidding! No lie! I don't think they'll stick around though. That went pretty late, so that's a good sign.

 

Got my $30 magic rebate, which reminds me, Mom, we need to buy more, I'm down to 7 and that just won't do. Also, where's my Harry Potter, I forgot to look when I was there. What was I saying? Oh yeah, the rebate. So I went and bought my USB flash drive. Moved all my saved data over to it, so now just my profile is on the xbox memory. That way I can take it back and forth, but if I forget it, no big deal, I just recover it to the flash and can still play. And believe me, I've forgotten it before. Before my saved stuff was on there too, so I was out of luck. But now I've doubled my storage, so it'll just stay there.

 

Snow, which I mentioned before. Hate.

 

Apparently the xerox card network was compromised or something, I tried to buy gas and the pump reader wouldn't take it. Had to go in and hand it to someone. How 2004. Got an email that explained it, they're searching for some scammer or whatever so it's disabled for that purpose for awhile. 

 

More Dr. Who of course. "eh" episode. Not great, but still pretty good.
