We start the day with two dead hard drives. One in a Mac and one in a PC. The Mac one was a MacBook, so there's no chance me changing it, they'll have to take it back to Apple. The other it would have been nice to have been told about before I got there, but she had another machine that needed work too, so the trip wasn't a waste. I took the tower and sold her the 160gb SATA drive I had laying around. Another one of these cheep dell pieces of crap that have perfectly usable SATA hard drive ports, but still have PATA hard drives instead. Yeah, that's bright.

 

Stopped in quickly to see an older lady I've known quite a while, she needed to be reminded how to use the trackpad. This is a woman that did video editing of her cruises. She was on the way, so no big deal.

 

Then over to see an OLD, old, old machine. A PII. Yes, a pentium 2. Worked on that thing for about two hours, it kept ramping up the memory to like a gig but it only had 256 to use so it got crazy slow, crazy fast. Finally got her stuff copying over to a flash drive and told them to run the antivirus scan (which I had to fight to install as well) after that and if it was still problemsome, (is that a word?) I would have to come back to return their laptop anyway, so I would look more at it then. The laptop she apparently ordered, then didn't use for two years so she's forgotten the password. It's some acer with the Sony Maneuver of cutting the HD up, so I just said "let's reload it" as that's easier, so I took that too. 

 

Then over to around where Heather lives, he said he had problems, but I didn't really see any, but I did a tune up for a half hour and that was that. He wasn't there to explain, he drives a cab so he's in and out, but hopefully I solved his "problem". 

 

Sat in a driveway for half an hour before my 3:00. Rang the bell twice, no one came. Went back to the car and sat there, he comes waltzing out at 3:00, where were you a half hour ago, buddy? But I worked some kinda magic or whatnot on his machine, or is that just what I want you to believe?

 

Came back home, started reloading these two. Ate dinner. Couple of calls, and I already had most of tomorrow booked, so it should be interesting. I've got a ton of places to go, we'll have to see how each thing goes to see what I get to.  The first is hopefully just to deliver a mouse, then I'll go drop this system off, then over to way past where Sean lives, then either the hotel or mail guy, then Laurie. I think I'm missing someone in there... yeah, it'll be busy. 

 

And let us not forget the paperwork I have to do, gift and card to finish, baking to do, website work which totally fell off, ugg.

 

Ah well, make hay while the sun shines, looks like it's going to be rainy the rest of the week come thursday. (this was a sort of metaphor kind of thing, like before I wasn't making hay because I had to calls to... you know what, forget it.)
