Which, believe it or not is probably a good thing!
As a point of fact it was more the boring, normal, unremarkable, throughly undistinguished day variety. Let me tell you all about it!
Picked up the last two volumes of Psychic Academy because I had totally forgot how that ended. And a little book called Make 5 Wishes. Standard multiple wishes deal, no using four wishes then wishing for another million wishes. She makes all the stupid 10th Kingdom wish mistakes of course, either not specifying exactly enough the parameters of the intervention, or without thinking things through enough. The art is really good though, and there are some twists, so I'm looking forward to reading volume 2.
The rest of the shopping completed uneventfully. Got to my 1:00 a bit early because apparently, you don't need 40 minutes to take a 20 minute journey. Who would have thought? Didn't realize that until a bit late though, and I was all like, wait, what time is it? Why am I leaving now? If I had a mind to lose I'd be worried.
Anyway, one of those elcheapo 256MB machines so popular with the "oh, I'm sooooo computer illiterate" crowds. Cleaned it up, RAMed it up, left it up. It was still a bit laggier then I would have expected, so I looked into his hard drive. Yup, just as I thought, 5400 RPM. Sure, put a laptop speed hard drive in a desktop machine. It won't run like crap, forever. *shakes head*. He must have bought the absolute bottom barrel machine it was possible to have bought without buying a cardboard box and writing "computer" on it.
That was over by Sean, actually. Then it was way back by my house down Phillips road to set up a new system for a lady. No trouble there, just a half hour. Came back here, read a bit, then out again for my 4:30. Picked up a laptop to be reloaded, and cleaned out a little mini not unlike mine but running XP instead of OS X. HAHA. That guy had like an 8 personality. Then there's me with my 4 PER and Ineptitude: social. Oh well, my REA is higher, PER is a dump stat anyway, right?
Came home, dinner. Worked a little bit more on the character sheet, and decided I was still going about things a bit wrong. I was still trying to combine the character maker with the character browser, but I think separating them will lead to better things in the long run. I have a pretty good idea how I'm going to do it, we'll see if it comes true. Thing is, if I just redo the character sheet on the web, what's the point? You may as well do it on paper. But if I can lead people through the creation of a character, one step at a time, then I'll really have something. So that's more what I'm going to shoot for now, rather then just remaking the paper copy verbatim.
Booked up tomorrow totally, which is good. Get to see my good friend Ellen. Such a treat.
