If one discounts the fact I have not yet mastered even the most basic of psy powers.

 

 So the question becomes what can I lay claim to as my list of accomplishments for the day? I submit the following:

 

My first morning one proceeded smoothy as I finished up the job started on the 3rd (yes, they are really hard to get hold of) so I could be paid for the entirety. The DVD-RW I had purchased installed smoothly, as how could it not under my gentle ministrations, and that was that. 

 

Making me a bit early to my 12:00, which was just a tune up lasting a half hour. Sigh. Good thing I have Infinite Space on the DS to keep me amused. Of course I turned on "auto save" thinking, hey, if I die, I'll just go back to the last point at which I saw the little "autosaving now" thing go up. But then I got slaughtered (because I can't figure out any sort of damage indicator for my ship) and was brought all the way back to my previous save, making me wonder just what the heck it was doing while it was supposed to be auto saving. But I digress.

 

My 1:30 was annoying in the sense that I budgeted time for two machine, and even get there early because of the not taking so long of the morning stuff, but he was all "oh, my daughter brought her machine, I hope you have time to look at it." Sure, I can do three machines for the price of one, why not? I can only do two things at once you know. And they're such crappy machines, just shoot them and get it over with. 40GB hard drives? Really? Awesome, if SSD. Not so much for spinny platters. Anyway, stole the 256MB PC133 chip out of one to put in the daughter's PIC (that's piece of crap) and looked it over for five minutes, and was still 15 minutes late to my next one. 

 

Of course, my customer yesterday still had dial up, so.... An hour and a half to download a sound driver? Really? At least his machine was decent, even if he is the last person in rochester to get high speed internet service.

 

Anyway, must go back there as his CD-RW drive is busted and all I have is that SATA one I bought by accident. Thought I had bought an extra IDE one but I guess not.

 

Then another clean out, his avast expired months ago so M.S.E and malwarebytes took out a bunch of stuff from that machine. Got it running fine.

 

And finally, lastly, a person whose sound output had somehow gotten switched to the modem. Yes, because somehow, Microsoft, I might want to listen to Bach's "Fugue no. 16 in G minor" via my telephone, so thanks muchly for providing me that option. Yes sir, talk about going the extra mile. *rolls eyes*

 

Finally got that straightened out and the 32bit version of his driver vs the 64bit version the guy downloaded (another great move there, MS. Hey, here's a tip: why not include BOTH drivers in one download and let the installer program  figure it out, rather then relying on the human who doesn't even know what that means and is hardly qualified to turn the machine on much less to make that kind of weighty decision? You know, like Apple does?)

 

Came home, yummy food was consumed, newegg orders placed (item on backorder, canceled) cats petted, phone calls made.

 

Oh, well, he petted CATS, I guess the day wasn't a loss then!

Oh, and lest we forget, it was TEN FREAKING YEARS AGO that Bob and George, the father of sprite comics, was created. Wow.
