Come on, it's time to go, do the Mario!

 

Sorry. Pretty empty day today, but I did get a bunch of phone calls all right near the end of the day. Weird.

 

Anyway, 9:30 was just a clean out, sorta. He had a 2004 version of Norton and a really, really crappy monitor, like a 14" that was stuck at 60htz, so my eyes did die. Avast wouldn't load, so I thought it was a virus, but Security Essentials did and it didn't find anything. Huh. See, his AOL account started spamming people, but only the one time. He can't change his password because his "security question" of "what's your school" it doesn't take. So I was pretty sure it wasn't his machine, possibly just some automated attack against AOL that was a one time thing. But at least he has security now, and he's going to keep trying the AOL thing. He can't call because he's not a "paying member". At least with gmail you can email someone who will look into a problem for you. *shakes head*

 

Home again. Checked my sites and ate lunch. Finished Trapped.

 

Got a call from Allstate, they needed a "photo inspection" of my new car. There were two places close by, so I called the first. The guy said they hadn't been sent "any film." I wanted to say, "What's film? Buddy, you're not going to get any more of that because they don't make that stuff no more." Wonder if I should call my agent back and tell her? Anyway, the second one said come on down and used a digital camera so... whatever.  

 

Went out at 3:30 to see Bobby B and measure the distance between his Mac and his TV. It only has 1 HDMI port, no DVI, but I found on Amazon a mini-dvi to HDML adapter (Apple only sells DVI ones) so it looks like it'll be easier then I thought! When I say "it" I of course mean hooking his Mac to his TV.

 

Came back again. Ate dinner. Worked on turning my "crappy art" wall

It looks good! Though a bit bare now. I'll probably fill in a bit more of the stage now that I know it works and looks okay. I wanted to get the initial scene set before anything. Here's a close up.

Then made phone calls. Then, this.

No Borderlands last night, Sean was playing Mass Effect 2, which is his right and privilege. Played a bit more Dead Space, that game really annoys me. Not in the same way... oh crap, what was I playing before Tales?  The Last Remnant. Of course. Not in the way that annoyed me, but it's still annoying. I'll continue to play it, after all it isn't Spelunker, for gosh sakes, but it's no Halo.

 

Why? Well, in Halo, if you die, it's because you ran into the midst of a squad of brutes without thinking and got cut to pieces. You were dumb? You paid for it. In Dead Space, you can just be walking down the corridor, minding your own business, and *SQUICK* you're dead. No indication of what killed you, just, sorry, you died. Video games are supposed to be FUN, remember?

 

Anywho, Friday we beat up (or get horribly deaded by) Metatron, and perhaps Saturday go back into the fantasy game with Sean and Stan? Nice little change of pace, though I'll hate going over there twice as much now that I'm not getting 40 MPG. 

 

Four places to go tomorrow, so that'll keep me busy.
