It's the milage on my car! Good old chibi-kurma. Woke up to cats running around and a chirping sound, jumped out of bed and grabbed a wastebasket, knew someone had found a chipmunk. I was right. Cornered him, well, he kinda froze up, and I popped the basket over him. He seemed unhurt, and was still doing fine when I got home later, so I let him go. You got lucky little one! Hope you enjoyed your day of warmth, safety, and yummy seeds. So another busy day? Check. And it was a Mac at the end that gave me issues. Thus, not a good day. Started out normally enough. Though in my head I had wanted to do Hotel then Lou, but then I figured doing them the other way around would be more logical. I was correct. Got him straightened up, again. Over to the hotel. The machine on the right died again, and they needed a password taken off a machine, and they needed a new monitor. I'll just get the system I got a couple of weeks ago working for them, that one was in a cabinet that really overheated it, and it's got a Win2K sticker on it, so it's had a hard life. Then at 11 it was the lady I can't ever get away from. Simple job, make sure all printers are working on all computers. There: 2 hours. So my 2:00, which was way out there on 531, was a regular clean out. I misread her RAM and thought she had 256 when she had 2560 so that wasn't the cause of her slowdown. I figured it was McAfee, as usual. I cleaned it out otherwise and said "dump McAfee" but her husband was out of state and she didn't want to do anything without asking him. Whatever. Then to the last one at 4:00. I left at 7:15. It was a Mac, having some issues, which was odd enough on its own. I did the safest course, ran DiskWarrior and then did an Archive and Install of OS X. But it came back and just hung there. Not pretty. Well, okay, the rainbow ball is kinda pretty. But the hanging, not so much. So I put it in firewire disk mode and back it up to my laptop. Then I reload OS X again, this time wiping the disk. Luckily, this seemed to make everything shiny again, and it was running great. Whew. Got home to a bunch of UPS packages. Guess I got a bunch of stuff in that I ordered. Wonder what the UPS guy thinks, he comes here all the time. Throws the boxes to the ground! So I wanted to get this system finished up so I could take it back to the Hotel, so I got that started. Made my 5 or so phone calls, and finally got to eat dinner. Snow warning for the next... uh, bit, I guess. That should be fun. Hope I get everything done early tomorrow. Saw a cute puppy today. I have boxes to open now. This system is done, it can be unplugged. Bunch of other things still to do. Currently: Putting more of the stuff in the... the thing more stuff goes in.
