Sixteen men on a dead man's chest, that's what. I mean, sixteen calls over the weekend. Like, what? Just a TINY, little bitty jump from the 12 I got over the last weekend. I mean, come ON. I want a new car, yes, but you don't have to throw every job at me all at once, universe. They can take it in turns you know. Anyway, a very busy weekend with me running around like the proverbial chicken that just had the proverbial head removed. I'm looking at eight invoices here and that's just friday and saturday! Highlights: Installed RAM for two people. The lady with the busted AGP slot, or so I thought, gave me further trouble when the PCI card I purchased wouldn't boot her machine up. What? I'm supposed to believe that nasty old ages ago video card card can boot this machine, but shiny new video card cannot? But I purchased an extra AGP card so I used that instead, and it worked. Course, it also recognized the other card, so I know it was being seen by the machine, but nope, not going to boot with it. Delivered the reloaded machine at 6:00 on friday, finally got my driveway cleared after two days of slogging through the snow to get to the road because I kept getting home after dark right before that. Still have yet to do last month's paperwork, a new record, as I usually have it done in a day or so. But today I did get two records done, cleaning, reloaded no less then two machines totally and got Wolf's machine going because she's paid me for it, so presumably she'll want it sometime soon? Painted the Apple sticker on my new toy... wait, what? Yes, I have a new little toy. A customer down the street from me had a dell mini 9, a machine I've had my eye on (bof of um) for quite some time ever since I realized what a great little OS X machine they were. Well, he bought another full size laptop and didn't want it, so I bought it off him. Wasted no time in wiping off the horribleness that was XP and throwing the shiny on it in the form of a "legally grey" copy of Mac OS X. Sorry Steve, you don't make the machine I want to buy, THEN I CAN'T BUY IT and I'll just get it elsewhere. But the apple stickers I had were all too transparent, so I applied white paint to one and now the somewhat drab and conformist "dell" logo has been replaced by the edgy and hip "ice" apple logo. Machine runs great, but can't wait to see how it performs with the RAM upgrade I've ordered for it. It's not really a toy, of course, it's for plugging in hard drives that are virused up without risk to the host system so I can peer through them and remove the nasty bits easier then with that admittedly well done XP live CD I have which is slower then... the slowest thing you can think of. Sean's was good, we got through plot, Ewen is immortal again, as is his girlfriend. Watched Halo thingy I forget the name of. Legends, that's the one. Well, seven o clock, time to make my bazililon of phone calls. Should be fun!
