So 93.3 Fickle, formally of "random radio" is finally living up to the "we play everything" mantra and playing stuff I've never heard. Some things I like. Some I don't. Funny world. But I heard Fireflies for the first time (number one download on iTunes?) which I thought was pretty good, and got me thinking. Because, honestly, what IS as it seems? You? Me? I don't think so. Take even the characters I play in Sean's games. I have a unicorn that can turn into a human. Never done it. Heck, the whole World Hopping game is me trying to keep the others from finding out I'm an ESPer. Albert's family is messed up, and Carlita, she lost her whole body for awhile, now she's stuck in spirit form and had to learn the forbidden demon technique of possession just to interact in society again. I do that, you know, like my credo is "never let them see all that you can do." I often wonder why. Do my friends really know me? Do I know them? Somehow I doubt it. Everything has so many layers, meanings, masks. Heck, even these words you're reading right now, they're just an interpretation by your brain of certain energies of light hitting your eyes. I heard a geico commercial today, saying that people blink more then 17000 times a day. Know why you don't see 17000 blinks in a day when you're not thinking about it? Because your brain turns your visual system off when you blink. Just, zip, "you're not going to see for a split second right now" and you don't even realize it because your brain tricks you into thinking what you saw was continuos. Where am I going with this? huh. I guess I just have to wonder, would friends, your friends, my friends, would they still be friends if they knew the real you? What do you keep from the people you know? What are they keeping from you? How much of the world we see is a lie? Or a fabrication of our senses? Man, I have got to lay off Supernatural. Forget that the bank was closed today, as was the post office. Thanks to the wonders of automation I was still able to buy postage and submit the package, and use the ATM to deposit my checks. Go me! The library was open, went over there. Went to staples and got some packing tape as I was out, and totally forgot to pick up the WiFi card I needed. Sigh. Kmart for oil and crunchy cat, and then stuff for me. Three jobs today, a guy who didn't change his ink correctly, he put the old cyan back in and wondered why it told him his cyan was low. A tuneup of a fairly new machine, basically just getting what it needed on, and transferring stuff from one machine to another. Boring. Which is fine. More Supernatural, phone calls. A bit of Borderlands, still need to do paperwork. Finish the HDL Touch program. Not enough hours in the day.
