I know, I'm a slacker. No entry for yesterday. And why? It would have been about five lines long. "Went to library. Come home. Worked on HDL 2.0. Played Tales. Bed." See? I didn't get too far in it, even though it's not really that complex a program, mainly because 1. the time between programming projects is such that I have to get in a coding mood again and 2. new stuff that I can use I have to figure out. See, before iPhone OS 3 there was no Core Data, so anything you wanted your app to save had to be done though the extremely limited "preferences" sort of deal. Yuck. But now as I can use C.D. I had to figure it out again (only have done one other, unfinished thing, with it, and that's the story editor). And of course nothing goes as smoothly as you plan, so.... but anyway, between yesterday and today I got the initial screen done and am well on my way to getting the SECOND screen done! *sweatdrop* But I can now add new games, and delete them! Yeah, it's pathetic, I know, but the bulk of the work is getting the classes to talk to each other, and the views set up and scrolling, and figuring stuff out, so now that I've done all that, the rest shouldn't be too bad. I did reuse some code both from the Story Editor and the Pocket Bankbook, another app never completed, so even with how long it's taken me to get this far, it would have taken me longer if I hadn't had that code. Went to see Nick at 9:00. He just had a couple of things, like thunderbird loses his address book every once in awhile. He lost his sound driver too. Made him a new back up, that sort of thing. Then back home, read a little, bit of an early lunch, and that work on HDL Touch I've mentioned. By 4:30 I had four calls and left for my 5:00. Which again reminded me how much I hate my job. Oh, not that it, by itself, was the cause. Oh no. It was okay, if too long by about 45 minutes. It was my own fault really, I should have started the reload of the crappy old machine first, then gone on to do the little piddly stuff on the four laptops. But I didn't think about that. The worst part was after it was done. Driving back home at 7:40 and it's snowing to find I had THREE MORE calls, for a total of seven, and it's now about 8:10 and I don't get finished until past 9:00 when I finally get a chance to have some dinner. So I booked tomorrow with five and two for the next day. One of which is at 5:00 so it'll be 6:30 at the earliest I get home tomorrow. Only one long jaunt luckily, the rest are all 10-15 minutes away from each other. So much for working more on HDLTouch. And now it's 10:00. Wonderful.
