Of course, number 6 wants me to come tomorrow. Uh, no. Maybe next week sometime. There are five people before you, and I'm not working the whole day anyway. Though I might do some stuff saturday. No, I tell a lie, six people, because I was upgrading someone to Vista and apparently it failed, so I get to go back. It had taken an hour and wasn't even half way done so I just said, yeah, call me if something happens. One of my calls was it not finishing. Great, I have no idea what to do about that. Probably have to do a clean install and reload everything there, too. SO FUN! Bunch of annoyances today, actually. First the person with three machines. Scheduled two hours over there, but of course the Vista upgrade wasn't going well, it takes PCs forever to do anything, and the downstairs one was just chewing up RAM for no apparent reason. Only got to look briefly at that one, so it's still pathetic, which is par for the course I suppose. The next one was fine, it was just moving music off an old machine onto the new one. Then my 3:00. Apparently some girl was trying to set up a sony ebook reader (not realizing sony is a horrible company I shall never buy another product from, but I digress) and somehow got infected with something very, very nasty. Basically took her machine down, wouldn't boot in safe mode, BSOD, the whole works. So in her infinite wisdom she decides to use her father's and the SAME THING HAPPENS. Great job! So I spent an hour trying to make the machine work, but got nowhere, so I had to reload them both. One was XP media center and the other was Vista, so at least I got to do them simultaneously. Still, had to get everything moved over after the reload, tedious city. Have I mentioned lately that I hate windows? Just didn't want you to forget. Now I must go make a pie for tomorrow. A yummy pie, with peanut butter, M&Ms, whipped cream, pudding, yes, it shall be a pie to remember. Then make my wonderful phone calls, can't wait to see how many I have the next time I make calls, that'll be Sunday for those keeping track at home, should be FUN, FUN, SUPER FUN!
