So I'm about ready to leave again after putting groceries away when the teleport trace warning icon pops up in my HUD. I activate the perimeter defenses in case it's the beginning of a hostile onslaught and activate the capture net. But who should step out of the alcove but the Big Man himself! "Yo Yo, Santa my man, whatzaaap!" I exclaimed heartily. "Thought traveling by those hep cat reindeer was more your style." "Yo- I mean HO, HO, HO that's only for the Big Night, as you well know!" (everyone knows Santa loves to rhyme stuff) "So what'ca doing here, man? Ain't you got elves to keep in line?" "Elves, smelves! If they don't got the routine down by now they're abominable snowman bait, you getting me?" "So then what does bring you here, my good fellow?" I asked, changing accents as is my prerogative. "Well, old chap." Santa replied. "Heard you had a spot of trouble with your tree, so I thought I might deliver you a new one." That's when I noticed the tree behind him! Can you believe this, he used his Jedi Mind Trick on me to not see it until just now! (That's how he hides from kids you know?) I tightened up my barrier, if he could get through, anyone could. "You're the MAN." "Aren't I though? But I have to run. The Big Night is coming up, no time for slacking now!" "That's why I keep telling you to start earlier, Nick." I said with a grin. "And make sure to send me your transponder codes this year, we don't want another "incident" like what happened last year, do we?" He handed me a slip of paper. "Already done. I'm still perturbed about what happened to my sleigh last year." "I made it up to you, didn't I?" "Still, let's be a little more careful this year. See you on the Big Night!" and he vanished again as I shouted "It was all your fault!" So anyway, I have a new tree now. This really happened. Honest. I have the new tree to prove it! Then I began the dull drudgery part of the day, that is to say, work. My 11:30 was just a tune up. My 1:30 was a very hard to get rid of redirector that took over google links and brought you to a different page. Luckily combofix took care of it at exactly the time I had to leave to get to my 3:30. Nothing of note there. Then over to my 5:00 where I did something I tried to talk someone through over the phone which took about a minute. *shakes head* Got home, ate dinner. Lots of phone calls today, I'm drowning in work. I have five for tomorrow. Four for Wednesday. Two for Saturday. Maybe something for Thursday too, just too lazy to go down and look. Also I finished up reloading a laptop with Vista (the HD was crap, 4200 rpm. Please) and getting a desktop to function right. At this rate I'm going to be working till 5:00 on the 24th! Anyway, 10:18, time to proofread this, and get ready for bedtimes. Sleepy nap times. Dreamland places. The big snooze.
