Good pace today, didn't have to deal with too many explosions, I guess you could consider it a success. Started out with my favorite thing, a system with only 256 of RAM. Glad I stocked up on DIMMs. Her anti-virus was circa 2004, so her machine was pretty well taken over. Hopefully the full scan I did upon leaving will shake out anything I missed. Sold her some RAM too, which should help in any case. Then the short one of the day, just setting up a router so when his daughter comes home she can get online with her laptop. No big deal. Came home, ate lunch. Made a bunch of phone calls as I had four by that point, and they were just short ones, so I figured I would take care of them. Left again at 12:40ish. Next up was transferring stuff from one crappy old machine to yet another crappy old machine. Not sure what the point of that was, but she wanted it done. The system was her brother's or something? Anyway, it was one of those custom jobs where somebody cut a huge hole in the side of the case, fitted a plastic window into it and called it art. No. Now the window was falling out and I tried for a good twenty minutes to actually fit the thing back together because it looked like crap and if you accidentally kick the thing, it's over. I eventually gave up because that wasn't exactly what I was there to do and plugged it in. And of course it didn't work. So I jiggled this and wiggled that and got it booting. Hope it's worth the hassle for her. Then over to the long one of the day, a half hour late (because of that stupid case) to set up two new machines, a machine that had been wiped and loaded with Win7 and a new printer. So total, he now has two laptops, three desktops and four printers. Whatever makes you happy man, I 'aint judging you. Got back around 6:00 to eat dinner. Only had the one phone call I didn't make, though I got a couple on the fly tonight. Booked friday, what I can do for Saturday before Sean's, who has invited myself and two others over for a movie before more of the talking about the new rules with them and continuing the fantasy game. Sorry, the "Magic System" or whatever Sean was calling it. Figured my route for tomorrow, nothing too terribly far away. I could pencil a comic right now, but I'm six ahead, and I really don't like to get too far ahead dialog wise. I know roughly what I want to happen, but sometimes it doesn't work out. So I think I'll just wait on that until I can fill in the dialog to make sure everything is going according to plan. Not too many more to go anyway, it might finish up right at the end of December, which would be an interesting coincidence.
