2009-11-08:

So Friday night I got ready for Saturday morning because I'm that kind of a together guy. I knew I had to go someplace at 10:30 and around 1:45 in victor. I grab the top two invoice forms with directions and lo-and-behold they have written at the top "10:30" and "1:45ish". Super. I bring them upstairs thinking all is well. But cast your minds back to a week ago, and you shall recall that when I got home from the RIT thing my saturday morning had canceled. But we rescheduled for this saturday at 10:30. However, last week, his invoice was up here and because it was just too much effort to carry two sheets of paper downstairs again, it kind of lay forgotten on a chair in my living room. So I get to this 10:30 and she's all "I thought you were coming Tuesday." Well, at that point of course I had no idea what was going on. Did I mark it down wrong on the calendar? Did I miss hear? What? So figuring if I DO have some other place to be at the very moment, I'm already late, so I might as well get this done as she was there when she didn't think she would be. So I get home (11:25) and realize what happened. But I don't have an invoice for him, and I'm looking around. Finally I remember that one in the living room. I call him, apologize and explain, make a quick lunch, and eat it on the way over there. Take care of that too, then get to my 1:45(ish) (late) and take care of that. I did have the date written on it, but I never look at that. It's just the next X invoice forms, I keep them in order to prevent such things happening. I was further thrown off by the fact that usually weekday appointments start at 9:30, not 10:30, so if that had held I would have realized it at once. But anyway, got three done for the price of two and everything worked out. Back home, I... do stuff, I guess. Clean a bit. Then it's over to Sean's for gaming. Which we did, sorta. What we really did was hammer out the new systems of "HP", "rounds" and "turns" which I think works a lot better. No more standing there taking a bunch of hits because a guy with martial arts is hitting me and I'm out of "actions" but at the same time, I'm defending a bunch and will probably never hit the guy. Which is more realistic anyway. So we got through a mock fight, then the actual game fight, then it was around 1:00 so I came back home. Today's weather, being the opposite of my enemy, the hideous shark, was glorious so I got my raking done and put up my christmas lights. I realize it's a bit early, but figure it's better to do it now then in two weeks when it will most assuredly be more like my enemy, hideous. [[image:houselights.jpg:House Lights:center:0]] I'll have to work on that light rope to the left there, see what else I can do with it. What, you thought I would waste it playing video games? I don't do that all the time, you know. Even I like to do stuff outside once in awhile. The extension cord I was using with the leaf blower started to melt through. The plug end, anyway. So that got thrown out, don't need my house burning down, thank you very much. If my house goes it's because the whole planet got destroyed. And my space station (shhhh it's a se-rc-et) would alert me to any hostile aliens or large chunks of rock in the area, so that's not going to happen. (Don't you feel safer now?) Came back in, thought about what to buy/make Sean and Mizzy this year for christmas. I think I know what I'm making Mizzy, so I have to start now because it might take me awhile. I found some cool stuff Sean might like, but I have to see his room again to be sure. What? You mean you haven't started christmas shopping yet? I usually try to have it done by Dec. 1, because, again, I'm just that kinda guy. While doing this, my father called and said my sister was in the hospital! I guess she's been having sinus problems and the doctor she called said "go directly to hospital, do not pass go" when her further symptoms were described. He didn't know much else, and it's been about two hours now and I haven't heard anything else, so I'm not sure if that's good or bad. So I have an hour before I have to make my TWELVE phone calls for this evening. Good thing I cleared out Tuesday, I think I'm going to need it. Tonight it'll just be a typical Sunday night, getting ready for the week, that sort of thing. And worry of course. My mother called at seven, Heather is back home. They gave the standard, sub-standard, answer "well, heck, I don't know what's wrong with you", gave her fluid intravenously, anti-nausia meds and sent her home. Get better soon! Current Mood: relieved.
