If only there was some way to go.. backwards, to erase, so to speak, what one has typed. Oh well! Onwards! With a last minute invitation (because someone had a busy week) we'll be rocking the halls of Demon Gate High tomorrow. Last night held a little surprise for me, my dehumidifier has apparently been leaking the past week or two, my carpet down there was quite wet indeed. Stupid bin, it keeps leaking, going to see if I can order another. I thought maybe it wasn't running as much now that we were into fall so my not changing it didn't concern me. I guess it should have. I've got a fan on it, but it doesn't seem to have helped. Of course, the whole point of the thing is to get rid of all that moisture in the air so mold doesn't grow so I don't die of blowing my nose. So hopefully if I can order a new one it'll come soon, or maybe I can think of something else. Today I did my share of running around. First to Hilton. Missed the turn off the Parkway West so had to take a slightly alternate route. Sold some RAM, they only had 256. *Checks calendar* Oh yes, it is still 2009, thought maybe I had gone back in time to the mid 90s. Cleaned out. Usual stuff. She only had like an 8 in english. How long have you lived here? And there was a little boy there and I could not understand a single word he said. Protip: You are now in America, speak ENGLISH to your KID so other ENGLISH speaking people can UNDERSTAND them. DO NOT give them your bizarre accent. DO NOT teach them your old language. America = Spani... English! Then on the way home I missed the turn back ONTO the parkway and had to take yet another, but prettier, route back to lake ave to get home. Lovely scenery by the bay. Ate lunch, checked webpages (and such). Left again. Went over to see a guy about an email address. Must have had the address wrong, 3040 was a house, I was looking for a plaza. Which I had also written the name down wrong. But I went back and looked carefully for the sign and it was there. Then to the one down the street, which I thought was a PC but turned out to be a Mac. Which was quite sick, sadly. The HD had some kind of fault and Disk Warrior gave the dreaded "performance slowed due to hardware failure" or something of that nature. Naturally he had no backups, but to increase irony he did have a larger, EMPTY HD he could have been backing everything up to all along. Great job! To make matters worse, I guess he's some kind of musician, he said he had a "four million dollar deal with universal" and all the music was on that drive. Well, guess you didn't really care about it, huh? If you had, you would have, I don't know, copied it to the OTHER HD IN YOUR SYSTEM? Expressed my condolences and told him to try a drive recovery place. Didn't have the numbers until I got home (no internet there, which was strange because it didn't look like a cave). Stopped off at grandmas, then left again to deliver the system. He was just about to pull out of his garage, apparently he forgot his daughter had an eye appointment at the time I was scheduled to arrive. So I just gave it to him, hopefully he plugs it in right. Back to grandmas, then home. Cleaned up a bit for that lady that's coming tomorrow. Started the backup of the system I've got here so I can wipe it and reload it.
