2019-05-16:
Fri:
It's the end of an era. Or something.
So we lose John, and tablet refurb work falls to us that remain behind. Super.
Managed to get some things done today. In the beginning I got through the rest of my resolved bugs. Then we went to lunch, and I got the videos done when I got back. Still not sure if we're just sending them as is or taking screenshots of unique things or what. One might be more time consuming for me but cheaper? I don't know.
Gina came around 3:00 to talk about some of the stuff I reopened, she understands now what is happening. We can't get a straight answer about translation, is what's happening.
Dropped stuff off at my parent's house, got gas, went shopping, and came home.
Did the usual around here as there was no Sean after all, but we might have the chainsaw party tomorrow… which is unfortunate because I didn't buy any food for it. Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Could be a problem. Have to look into that, see what I have on hand.
I'ma go do that.
I made brownies, cleaned up, got some things together I can serve tomorrow. It's going to be fine. Fine!
Sat:
Got up fairly early, around the normal time for me, and got to work. I transplanted a tree from under a tree to the back where the lady behind me cut the three trees down. So now there are three tiny replacement trees there on my side of the line.
Puttered around, did a bit of reading until my parents arrived. We chopped up some bush pretty good, there's a lot of it. I think less than half fit in the truck. Should have taken some before and after pictures, I always forget that!
We found the window is rotting out back there.
We also destroyed a bird's nest with two eggs. Sorry momma bird. :-(
Had lunch with them, then cleaned up.
Did some more reading.
Proofread chapter 15, time to write chapter 16.
Watched some of season 2 the orville instead.
Sun:
Watched more of the Orville, then went to the museum with the rest of the family.
Neat place. Why is so much stuff I already own in there? Weird.
Came back, checked sites, ate dinner, made calls.
Mon:
Back to tablettown, population -1. Anyway, at the meeting today Gina called a halt to the translation stuff as we're getting an extra "advanced" machine from someone being on vacation this week. As the major effort this time is that platform she wanted as much testing done on it as possible. So that's where I was. I did 1.5 test plans and wrote all three of today's three bugs that were written.
Tomorrow I'll do a quick AT&T test on the one machine I haven't tried yet with the new software as I doubt they broke anything, and then get back to Aanda. Or perhaps tablet stuff if we switch off. We'll see. Either would be a delight.
Came home, checked sites, had two calls.
Booked tomorrow, a setup so that's probably no problem.
Then spent an hour and a half trying to get a guy back on RR email. For some reason it's like they're blocking his access to their imap server. I put his info in here, boom, worked instantly. Put that some info in there- can't connect. Tried thunderbird, mac mail, I know his password is right because a) it doesn't ask for the password just flat out refuses to connect and b) webmail works. I really do hate Spectrum, honestly.
So now it's 9:30 and I've done nothing tonight. Nor will I. Brilliant. Thanks, Spectrum!
Tues:
More test cases run today. Two of them, to be exact. Didn't write much up, but that doesn't mean I didn't write a bunch of documentation bugs, because I did. Oh, you better believe it.
Tomorrow I might switch off and do some of the tablet work.
Went out to set up the new laptop for a lady. I got there before 4:30, I got home at almost 8:00. I hate how slowly windows copies stuff. (But I love watching it drop from 30-40MB/sec to 0 for no reason! So fun!) She had only 50GB of music to copy and it just dragged on and on.
Finally got home, helped a guy with AOL password, ate dinner, checked sites, and now it's almost 10:00.
Sigh.
Rainy and cold by the way, in the 40s.
Wed:
Got to do some tablets today, but honestly not many were delivered. Still took all morning though.
Of course, some of that time was prepping the new SD cards so we didn't have to do so much switching later. The power supply test is rather annoying as well.
The afternoon I spent looking over resolved bugs. Got most of them.
Also found a few more things to write up, but I didn't get time to. I was making powerpoint files to be printed to try and find out why certain ones crash when they are converted to PDF.
So I'll finish my bugs up tomorrow and either do more tablets if more are delivered or continue testing, probably scan to usb over in the far lab.
Came home, it was raining, what a shock, and checked my sites. Look like we're on for Friday.
Got 2 calls today.
One problem had already been taken care of, the other I gave what advice I could but he needs to look into things more. So nothing for tomorrow yet, so I can go pick up Tinker after work. Yup, it's tooth day!
Worked on chapter 16 at last.
Thurs:
Oddly, no tablets were delivered today. None were taken away either that I could see a little after lunch so what's the deal here?
I instead worked on scan to USB as I intended. I've got it just about finished so we're in good shape I feel.
Wrote a bug or two, nothing too major. Found another plant that was in desperate need of watering. On tuesday I think it was I wandered over into the "other" section of the lab I've been using for the test and there were a dead plant, a nearly dead plant, and two larger plants that seemed fine but only due to their size. I took the dead one out and threw it away, and watered the others. I'll have to keep an eye on them. I found the one today in one of the conference rooms because all my normal spots were taken. What's with all the meetings, people?
And who is not taking care of the plants?
Can't forget taking Tinker in to have his teeth done. The vet said everything went fine, he's lost one tooth on one side and was loosing one on the other so she essentially ground it down and stitched the gum over top of it. He can't have crunchy bits for a week, which I'm sure the others will be a fan of as well because that means none for them either. Though I suppose a handful given directly would be fine.
Left work late to just get there on time (4:50) and waited a half hour to get him back. Sheesh. Saw a cute tiny white puppy that was very friendly, a big excited white puppy, a smallish brown puppy, and people coming in for medicines.
But he's home now, with pain pills for two days, so it should be fine. Then we get to do this is a few months with Squeaker, who I hope pulls though because of his heart condition. I wasn't worried about Tink, but Squeak?
Checked sites, watched youtube, the usual. Made one call, the house can't fax after replacing their router? Huh? If course it took me a bit to figure out their bizarre phone system cable situation when I was there last.
Didn't reach anyone that could help me, I'll have to get back to them.
Let's look to the future: Probably more writing tonight? At least a bit I would expect.
Then tomorrow comes, I'll finish up USB and take either another service or do more tablets.
Or goof off, who can really say?
Leave a little early because of today, go shopping, no bank but I didn't want to hold that nice check from a few days ago so I just put it in electronically. Then seeing my parents and over to test more spells with the guys. (And Mizzy, now that she's back?)
Maybe the one job Saturday or perhaps others if I get any calls until that point. Otherwise a quiet weekend looking forward to next weekend that's a four day weekend. Without pay! Sweet!
So May is half over, it might finally be near 80 on Sunday, then drop back into the 60s. How is it where you live? Let me know in the comments below, and make sure to like and subscribe… wait a second.
