2012-03-06:
So some highlights I guess. Been watching Season 2-3 of The Mentalist. Thought a bunch about how the rest of book 2 is going to go, I wanted to make sure I knew what Osman was going to be seeing before he saw it. So hopefully the rest of the book is mapped out, but we'll have to see how long each part is. I hope I have enough plot.
Two jobs today, lady who got a "new hard drive" which I thought was a new backup drive because that's what she was going on about. Uh, no, she got a "new pc" so I spent a half hour doing stuff to the old one needlessly. Thanks. She paid for it. This morning I learned Kaspersky anti-virus has a bug wherein if it expires, your mouse stops working! Great idea fellows. Something about a "virtual mouse driver" being disabled incorrectly or something related to the product? Also installed the SSD for Barbara, her hard drive was dying I guess, I couldn't do a transfer copy, I had to do it the hard way. But her machine is up and running well again. Love SSD so much!
Yesterday just the one, setting up a new machine, so that went fine, and I got a cupcake! Shopping as usual.
Sunday I did my paperwork, actually got the online form to work (it didn't the first time I tried it years ago) and sent in my $2000 collected tax money. Thanks for letting me have that $1.00 of interest I earned on it guys. Appreciate it.
Saturday was game, which went well, at least from a certain point of view. Sean threw five/six fully armored and armed knights (one wizard) at the town to legitimately collect Neil's character, who they said was wanted for the murder of the king. (He's a prince, his Mom was dabbling in the black arts, he's trying to find her.) This is Neil's character he just made, so we've "known" him for all of two days. As he does not resist arrest, the party says, "well, guess he was guilty after all, he seemed like a nice guy, just goes to show, right?" and let him be led off. Sean believed we would try to take on these legitimate members of government to help him out because he was a "PC" but as our characters had no reason to do so… we did not. Stan put it best by saying "It's a Role Playing Game, we have to Role Play the situation." He says we always do the opposite of what he expects, which I think is about right for games of that type. People will always surprise you.
Very busy day planned for tomorrow, four places to go, all pretty far apart too. Sigh.
Been playing Mari0 that finally came out. Little buggy. It's Super Mario Brothers 1… with portals. I'm trying to play it with my old Macally gamepad, and if I turn the mouse control of where the portal goes, I can't jump! But I finally got the analog control working right so I've made it to… world 2-3. Wow are my platforming skills rusty. As it happens I don't think I've ever really played SMB1, you know? I've won it, but I always just warped rather then doing all the stages. How about that.
Nice and sunny today, maybe 60 tomorrow? Verry Nice.
