2012-02-16:
At last. Honestly, this week has been, dare I say barren of work? Tuesday I had almost nothing, "oh, my keyboard doesn't work". Try unplugging it and plugging it back in. Oh, that worked. Huh. AArg.
Wednesday I had sod all. So I decided to get some things finished! I finally made the index and cleaned up the TOC for Sprite World, and said to Sean: "what more needs to be done to this so it can be released?" I also fixed up Due Process so it now takes seven months instead of three like it took before, so it fits the timeline better. And with the new-new-new revised rules for talismans they become super easy to make one way, but super time consuming to make another. Shoot, there was one other change I thought about making today, I'll have to remember it now. Anyway, gave it to mom to proofread, so hopefully it reads okay. Also made some improvements to the Paragon Database, mostly on the PC side, and put up the latest version of that. Finally got around to killing the main dragon in Skyrim, weak. Still way more to explore in that game though. I miss you video games!
Finally had work today, my first one owed me $100 since last year, which I finally collected. His router was… odd. It was on the web and the diagnostics could ping google. But nothing connected to it could! Changed it out and everything was fine. He had three machine that I worked on, the worst had 85% of it's services turned off somehow, so it couldn't do anything until I tediously went in there and turned them all back on, one at a time. So he ended up paying me over $200 total, thank you very much I needed that money like you can't believe.
Went to pick up a system to work on here, then brought it home, ate my lunch, then back out to see a guy with just some questions. (Mac) Came back here, started copying his HD to his back up drive in case he missed stuff, which was a good move because it took freaking 4 hours to do. My last one was half an hour late, but I got her all straightened out.
Pulled my keys out of my pocket, "gee, something doesn't seem right. Where's my car KEY?" Lost it. How does one lose a key, from a keyring, walking from the car to the house and back again? Looked all over, it's just vanished. AARG. Had to pull off my spare, hidden key to get home. Luckily it's just a regular old key so hopefully the replacement won't be too much. Still, what THE HECK?
Reloaded the machine all nice and fresh, and played some Firefight with Mizzy/Sean at the same time because I'm multi-tasking like that.
So tomorrow: printer problems at the mortgage place, it's one of those large units so I'm sure what I can do = zero. Take system back to guy. New HD came in for Margret so I'll call her to install that. Didn't reach someone that wants saturday for two machines, I'll try her again later. Then the Perfect Horizon game after that.
As usual forgot to take a picture of what I made Mom this year for Valentines. It was cool though, you can take my word for it.
Oh yeah, wanted to write this last time: why does every "fight anime" turn into Dragon Ball Z? Watching Naruto, it's all about becoming "more powerful" as in, "having more energy". It's never "I've got this tough enemy to fight, I will practice to become more skillful in battle so that he will not dodge my attacks." No. It's always "Here is a way to gather more energy." I mean, yes, Carlita was amazing on the battlefield because she had 10x the energy of a normal person, and pushed it up to 40x for the last battle, so it makes sense. The more energy you have the more techniques you can fuel, but the characters that go for "straight" fighting like Rock Lee get beat up all the time and are secondary characters. I guess it's all about the energy, baby.
Just figured out I can import HTML files into Sigil, the ebook program I've been using, and I can save the text file generated by Ulysses as HTML so I don't have to go through and italicizes stuff. Whew, that's a huge amount of work I don't have to do, thank you.
