During one of the sunny breaks I did something I've been wanting to do for awhile. Cleaned my car out. Exciting, I know, but then, I'm a pretty exciting guy like that. Found the Psyche DVDs, apparently they slid under the seat so they rode out there, and then rode back with me. Whoops. Guess they can ride out again. Got rid of a zip drive (don't worry, I still have a USB one, a SCSI one, and a parallel one, you know, to complete the collection) and a bunch of parallel cables I haven't used in years and some other junk. Not that you can tell, of course, as the space was swiftly consumed by the spreading stuff law. You know, if there's a space, something will appear to fill it. Also picked more sticks up out of the back yard, anyone need a huge pile of sticks? Because I know where you can get one.
Oh, and I did that thing, that, work I guess you call it? Got the keyboard all put in, thank you Mr. Not-Taking-The-Keyboard-Out-Of-The-Box (a very silly last name if I say so myself) then over to install the new backup drive. Came home for some lunch, then found the guy's music collection. He has time machine, is he just unaware of how exactly it works? Anyway, he was quite relieved, and I found some answers to some Aperture questions and that was that. His $7.00 cleaner program has this big, scaring warning on one of its features which is "delete any files not accessed in X years" which I guess is turned on by default? Because we think that's where his whole music collection disappeared to. Nice. Who knows what else it wiped out, right? The music was just the obvious thing, hope it doesn't come back to bite him later.
Home again, car. Had someone stop here, again with the iTunes not installing right. This time it didn't matter, but it would be nice if I could recall what I did the last time I saw that error message. Why, exactly, is windows such... you know?
Reading The Fire and the Light right now, actually about 3/4 the way through. It's a pretty short book, it's okay but kind of unbelievable. As if a fantasy story can be called "unbelievable". Finished Dexter, still not sold on the premise, but the episodes were pretty good at least.
Not many calls, just getting a laptop dropped off tomorrow and then one later in the day.
Saw this on my fortune page, thought I would leave you with it. Sharing is caring!
