2010-12-27:
I was personally too busy visiting family and friends, getting/giving gifts and eating yummy food to notice! But it's what I've been told.
I haven't written in awhile, let's go way, way back to the 22nd. As was the plan, I did go help paint, which was fine. We got the kitchen finished, apart from touching it up, of course. Got to use the cool little edging tool, and roller, and paint. Without which, painting would be pretty hard. That took about from 10:00 to 2:00? I forget what I did the rest of the day.
Then the 23rd, a bunch of work, actually. Setting up a couple of new machines, an iPad, a cleanout. It went pretty well, I don't recall anything that made hulk angry. We didn't actually do game at Sean's because Neil wasn't available. Boo!
Then the 24th I know I worked a bit on Bankbook, I read on MacUser about the Sparkle framework, basically you just hook a couple of things up and suddenly with no work your program will auto update! It's what cyberduck uses, actually, the only program I have that does. So I did work on that, and fixing a couple of other bugs. In fact, as I recall it, I was trying to work something out when I had to leave to visit the aged one. How rude. But I did get it straight once I got back that night. So we went to visit grandma at 2:30, though we got there closer to 3:00. Great, great excitement and haste to get there on the part of all parties. Oh yes. Then back to the game, which was fun as always, and some people got some cool stuff I think.
Opened Sean's gift when I got back. It's a unicorn and a hippocorn pillow pal! No really, the blue one looks like a hippo with a horn, it's so funny. I love them. They are sitting atop the iMac where pikachu used to sit. He liked his Phoenix. Mizzy didn't say anything about hers.. oh yeah, I can post what I made them now! HA!
Here's sean's! Click on them, why dontcha?

Here's Heather's!

Sean's is a very huge papercraft bird, 34 pages, which took me a bunch of hours to put together.
Mizzy's is the Fallout 3 Bobble head "Speech" which gives a 10 bonus to the speech skill. I made this because I thought once she's a lawyer, speech is the thing she'll need most. Hopefully she'll pass this time and all will be well. Took several tries to get right, with various materials, but you only remember the successes so that was that.
Heather's is a fire flower from Super Mario Brothers. Mostly made because she had only one gift, (a pretty expensive one) and I felt she should have something else too, and that looked cool, so there.
Anyway, back to the story. Thought I had set my alarm for 8:45 to get over there at 10:00. So my alarm rings, and I shut it off, but I don't notice the time. This is intentional, you know how if you wake up, and you see the time, and then you think to yourself, I have to get up in two hours why bother going back to sleep and then you don't? Well, I have a box of kleenex in front of the clock so I can't see it, so that doesn't happen. Smart right? You learn so many life tips from this blog, I swear. Anyway, I brush my teeth and everything, and walk into the kitchen for a leisurely breakfast, and glance over at the clock. I stare, uncomprehending, at the numerals that show 10:05. I am like, was I just abducted by aliens and lost an hour? What is going on here? So I hastily put the gifts in the car and book it over there (and by book I mean car) about a half hour after I was supposed to arrive. Whoops! None of my family said anything, for which I was very grateful! They know how much I hate explaining things, after all. They're smart like that. Thanks you guys, now you know the REST OF THE STORY.
Then we had a good time with stories about sewing, and comics about zombies, and some presents being opened. I got a huge stack of books and tons of food, so I'm set for a few weeks. I set up Dad's new computer, then read a bit. Then we went to go see grandpa, and I came back home.
Sunday was Sean day this week, I figured, eh, why not? Game went pretty good, some surprising things happened, yes, very, very surprised. Stupid Bakeneko. But I killed a vampire that supposedly the entire Foundation couldn't kill a hundred and fifty years ago. By hitting it three times. Huh. Combat Monkey... much? Then the kidnapping was found out about, and we got the process started to make the book we need to give the Naga, all kinds of things. Then spirit hunter society challenged the 12 best fighters at the school to take on their 12 best, and we were like, "oh really?" and wondered what their real plans are. They are becoming a real thorn in my side. Sean does have his projector up. Finally.
Then today, which I treated like a sunday, what with all the cleaning I finally did. With everything else stuff has just been piling up around here, but it's nice and clean again. Started making the characters we'll need to answer the challenge, but I think I'll have them fight a mock battle or two here just to make sure they're combat ready. I was supposed to deliver a system at 4:30, but she canceled.
Got a whole bunch of calls, of course. It has been four days, I'm almost surprised there weren't more. So I have tomorrow booked and I think two or three for Wednesday. Going to the store tomorrow too. Library to drop off books, I won't need to get any for awhile. Won't need much, just things like milk and bread.
