Bad information from the weatherman. Turns out it was sunny and nice the last two days rather then rainy and nasty, so when I went to take care of grandma's leaves, they were dry and feather light. And not only that, there were less of them then I expected, perhaps due to some force of nature I like to term wind? But sadly there are sill leaves on this crappy tree! Aarg! And a half, even!  And it's going to snow now they say, for the next three days? Well, okay, snow-ish rain or whatnot. If only I had Naruto to use "Bunshin no jutsu", swarm the tree and take all the leaves down. And serve me some hot cocoa while he was at it, while we're wishing. 

 

Semi-crappy day. #1 was really, really dragging. I thought maybe it was just McAfee, but it didn't improve much after I took that off. So I took it out and plugged it into my Mac. Backed up her pictures/documents at a reasonable speed I thought. Ran chkdsk three times, and each time it came up with new things to fix. Then of course it BSOD on boot. Great! So I got to take that one home.

 

Then over to the guy with the new Mac, for the challenging task of typing a number, oh, A long one I grant you, microsoft likes their numbers long, into a box. Yes dear readers, education is important. But more then education there is the knowledge that what you are learning can be applied outside the classroom. Use me as your warning, or you too will be reduced to typing numbers into boxes for those sad, mindless individuals for whom this task proves too challenging.

 

Then setting up a new laptop, her ethernet cable JUST reached it. PROTIP: Leave a little slack when you make a cable, at both ends, so that if something needs to move a little, it can. Also ran some scans on a machine last protected by McAfee in Feb. 2009. *shakes head*

 

Then leaves. Home. Got the hard drive for the laptop for the guy leaving friday to go back to collage, so I loaded that up so I could give it back. I wanted to drop it off on the way to my 6:00 but noooo it had 138 updates to do which was taking forever. I got back and it was stuck on #24, IE8 (like I wanted that anyway) and it wasn't smart enough to maybe, save that one for last once it realized it was just sitting there for an hour? No? Okay, sorry, unrealistic expectations. Oh, and it wouldn't automatically "activate" for some crazy reason. I had to type this 40 digit number into a moronic computerized phone dealy that couldn't get it half the time, then get read back another 40 digit number to type in. Because that's helped stop windows piracy, yes sir. 

 

Wait, what's that? My HACKINTOSH is speaking!

 

"Did you have to put in any numbers when you made me?"

"Why no, no I did not, Mr. Hackintosh."

"But aren't I technically illegal, much more so then a 'simple' pirated copy of windows?"

"I guess you are! How funny is that?"

"Pretty hilarious, actually."

Then left for the 6:00, which wasn't anything special either.

 

Came back, dinner, took a call from laptop lady "oh, links still aren't working in AOL"

"Well, there must be an "enable links" there someplace"

"There isn't."

*spend twenty minutes for her to connect with VNC because she is apparently selectively blind like every other person on earth*

*clicks link in AOL*

"See, right there!"

*she closes little pop up message*

"Why did you close it?"

"I didn't!"

"Uh, yes, you did. Click it again."

*clicks*

"See, right there. 'enable links' JUST LIKE I SAID. YOU MORON!!!!!!!"

 

That last bit was just in my head. I think. Finished up my letter to Suzanne, (that's the girl in the Philippines that's writing me), called the laptop guy about the time to drop it off, wrote this, and now it's time for some more Fallout 3.
