How do I win?

I think the best way to win is to know how I, and by extension, the computer, plays. If you think about it, you're really playing me, as I'm the one who programmed the game. Below are the steps the computer takes to pick a card to play, or to discard. Remember, they are both important, as throwing away the wrong card can cost you a game the same as playing a card at the wrong time!

1. Try to play a green light
2. Try to play a red light
3. Try to play a speed limit
4. Try to play the other hazards
5. Try to end a speed limit, if one exists
6. If a hazard is showing, try to play an immunity. Or, if I or my opponent is about to win, play all my immunities so I at least get some points for them.
7. If I don't have the immunity, try a mundane fix
8. Play distance cards, starting with 200
9. If I haven't played a card by this point, I can't, so try to discard.

Discard

1. Get rid of the most useless card, a fix for something I'm immune, or can be immune to, or that my opponent is immune to.
2. Next is 200s, if I have more then I can possibly use. (in other words, three)
3. A 25 is pretty useless, if I'm not under a speed limit hazard, so it's the next to go if I have one. If I'm under a speed limit, keep it.
4. Then throw away any duplicate cards that are not movement cards
5. Then throw away any cards that put me past the end of the race. (Like I only have 75 miles to go, but I have a 100 card)
6. Get rid of the smallest distance card I have
7. If I get the this point, I must not have any distance cards, so throw away whichever card looks most useless

Notice at no time do I discard an immunity, and that the only time I play it is if I'm going to get the bonus for doing do, or I'm in danger of loosing the 100 points for not playing it

So there you have it. That's how the computer picks what card to play, or throw out. Now that you know that, print this page and run through it a few times while playing, pretending you're a computer. Follow each step and if you get to one that matches what you're seeing, do what it says. Then start at the top the next turn. I'll bet you improve!
Of course, a big part of the game is luck, as the cards are randomly given out, and I can't help you with that! :-)
